Disclosure: I was sent a sample from the vendor in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Today I had to debate with my girls I never expected to have -- which decade had the best music?  As I started in with my reasons for the 70's and 80's being the best decades for music, I couldn't help but remember back when I was their age in the back of my parents' Plymouth Reliant heading up to NH for the weekend in the summer during the early 80's, having a similar debate.  My parents were in control of the radio when we were kids, so my brothers and I had to listen to 50's and 60's music.  It wasn't until I was older that I started to appreciate the music of their generation.  Their music shaped the music that I grew up enjoying, the 70's and 80's. My personal favorites were the Bee Gee's, the Carpenters, Phil Collins, Hall & Oates, Kenny Loggins and Toto, to name a few.  I would lay in my bedroom playing my records and then my personal mix tapes I would spend hours trying to record just at the right moments during the weekend countdowns. Flash forward to today, 2022, it is hard to find bands like Air Supply , Chicago and Fleetwood Mac turning out hit after hit, like they did back when I was growing up and listening to them.  My summers, especially were filled with laying around with friends in the backyard listening to our favorite music, soaking up every last minute of summer vacation before we headed back to school. Ahh, those were the good 'old days!  So, today, when one of my favorite songs from the 80's came on the radio and my oldest daughter was quick to try and turn the channel, I had to have the talk.  Yes, you know the talk -- my car, my radio and tunes!  As these words came out of my mouth, I could picture in my head my parents saying the same thing to me when I tried to change the music.

As I drove in the car with my girls, I schooled them on the best music decades of all times -- the 70's and 80's.  They didn't agree one bit, but for the hour we were in the car, I gave them a sampling of some of my favorite songs of those decades, thanks to the The Summer Breeze Collection, 10 CD set from Time Life, I was recently sent to review and feature in my holiday gift guide.

As I played songs from this collection, I kept telling my girls, "Oh, this is another favorite of mine!"  It seemed liked every song that played next was a personal favorite. Never once did I have to skip ahead to another song, as I loved and wanted to listen to them all.  Even though my girls didn't seem thrilled to be listening to the music, I did hear them tapping their feet to the Phil Collins and Kenny Loggins songs.   While we may agree to disagree about the best musical decades, I did tell the girls that there will come a time when they are my age and driving along with their kids, that they will have the same conversation. They will defend to the end that the 2000's and 2010's had the best music, while their kids will sigh and roll their eyes.  I hope they will laugh and remember back to our car ride today, when we debated about this same topic, and hope they will tell their kids, "My car, my music/tunes!"  In the meantime, my girls know that we will be reliving the 70's and 80's with the 10-CD The Summer Breeze Collection from Time Life, every time we travel together in the car. :-)

If you grew up listening to and loving 70's and 80's music, you definitely want to pick up this 10-CD collection from Time Life.  I am loving all the artists and songs that make up this collection, and look forward to driving in the car with my music turned up, as I sing all these great songs.  You will be doing the same, once you pop in the first CD and here the great artists of the greatest musical decades. :-)
