Find Ways to Save $$ Without Having to Say Goodbye to "Want" Items Like Soda and Sparkling Drinks Thanks to the Drinkmate OmniFizz Drink Maker (Review)

I am still in shock every time to go to fill up my car with gas or go to the market to do our weekly grocery shopping. It seems liked each week the prices inch up higher and higher.  I ended up paying triple what I paid last year for a turkey and all the fixings for Thanksgiving this year.  And, with the holidays in full swing, I am seeing prices for toys, clothes, etc. also on the rise.  I don't know about you, but I have been looking for ways to help cut costs, like couponing, trying to shop local to save on gas, and finding creative ways to save on some of those "wants" (but don't really need) for the family.

Some ways I have helped save money to cover rising costs of "needed" items like oil heat and groceries include the following:

1.  For our weekly Friday pizza and movie night, instead of ordering out for pizza, we now grab naan bread, pizza sauce, cheese and toppings at the market, and make our own personal pan pizzas.  They are filling, and the girls really enjoy making their pizzas to their liking. My youngest can have her cheeseless pizza, which was always a pain to order when we did take out and usually messed up once we picked up the order.

2.  Instead of heading to Starbucks to get frappuccinos and pink drinks for the girls, we found some copycat recipes online, and now make their mocha cookie crumble and pink drinks at home, and they taste the same, if not better than the door. We are saving on gas to the store, time waiting in line, and the $10-12 we were paying for their drinks.  Just the other day we found a cake pops recipe we made and it was a hit with the girls. So, now we can say goodbye to the $3.25 cake pops there, and make them at home, too!

3.  Eggs are over $7 at our market. After looking around online, I have found that Misfit Market has organic name brand eggs for only $2.99 a dozen. Also, their fruit and pantry products are all cheaper too than what I was paying at the market.  Now, I am can order most of what I would grab at the market through this online shop and have it delivered right to my door, saving me money on food and gas.

4.  While my girls had a Starbucks habit, I found myself not being able to say goodbye to my Sprite.  But, if you have been to the market lately and walked down the soda aisle, you know that even soda has gone up in price.  A 6 pack of Sprite is almost $8 here, without the deposit.  And, I have noticed that the bottles have gotten smaller, just like so many other products at the markets. Funny how the prices are going up, but the product size is getting smaller.  But, like the girls I wanted to find a way to supplement my need for a Sprite fix with a more economical option.  That is what led me to Drinkmate, the carbonated drink maker.

While I couldn't find a copycat recipe for Sprite, I did realize that by using this carbonated beverage maker, I could get that fizzy drink fix at a fraction of the cost.

And, another plus with the DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker is that I can customize my drinks and even try new flavors I otherwise might not have tried or been able to find at the market.

What is so great about the Drinkmate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker is that you can make all types of carbonated beverages -- from cocktails and mocktails, to bubbly flavored water and sparkling juice, there are so many tasty drinks with that fizz that will delight soda and carbonated drink fans.

After the initial purchase of the DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker and some of Italian syrups for flavoring, you will be ready to make an assortment of sparkling water and soda for your whole family to enjoy.  Next to creating my own custom carbonated beverages to enjoy, I like how you can also make just enough of a beverage so you aren't wasting it. I don't know how many times I have bought soda only to have it go flat in fridge as it was pushed back behind another drink and I forgot about it. Or, I was just crazing a fizzy drink and took a few sips, only to be sidetracked with something else, and then return to the drink later when it was warm and flat. Yuck!

The DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker is compact enough that it has a spot on my counter in the kitchen, and doesn't take up much space.  Even the extra bottles I bought store away in my cabinet, ready to be grabbed when I or my family want to make a fresh carbonated drink to enjoy.

There is a recipe section on the Drinkmate website that offers up easy to make cocktail, mocktail and flavor infused drinks.  I ended up sitting down with my family after getting our DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker and printing out a handful of recipes to try.  We were all amazed at how tasty these at home carbonated drinks came out. They tasted better than store bought and had more fizz, as they were just made and not sitting in a bottle on the shelf at the market for who knows how long.

Now whenever I have to run to the market to grab a few items, I no longer have to stop down the soda aisle and cringe looking at the $7+ cost for a 6-pack of soda, as I know I have my own carbonated drink maker at home that makes better tasting and better quality drinks for my family and to enjoy.  I like how I don't have to give up my fizz fix, but I am saving $$ on my special drinks I make at home.

These are just a few ways we are cutting costs and saving money in our house?  What money saving tips do you have that would me and others keep money in our pockets to save or put to raising costs of those needed things like rising heat and gas prices?  Please share any money saving tips in the comments section below.  I can't wait to read them.  And, in the meantime, if you want to save $$ or invest in something that will help cut costs for your family, I highly recommend you look for copycat recipes online to print off free, check out websites like Misfit Market (most have % off for new subscribers and offer you referral perks/credits), as well as consider picking up your own DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker for yourself or as a family gift this holiday season.  Once you make your first at home carbonated drink and try it, you will be hooked and want to make more tasty carbonated drinks at home.  We are loving our DrinkMate OmniFizz Sparkling Water and Soda Maker and I am loving the $$ I am saving.
