Growing up, I always knew come Christmas time that my mom and grandmother would buy me socks and underwear, along with some questionable clothes they loved, but that I never wanted to be caught dead in public wearing -- think ugly holiday sweaters when they weren't cool and colors that should never make their way onto fabric, let alone paired to create a garment. Now, flash forward 30+ years, and now I am getting to do the same things to my kids. :-) They know that whenever their birthday or Christmas rolls around, that I will be gifting them with new underwear and socks. I don't even have to bother buying them an ugly Christmas sweater as they are now considered cool, and usually my girls ask for one to wear to holiday parties and out and about. Funny how back when I was their age, I never wanted to be caught in public wearing a flashy holiday sweater...and, now they love going out and showing off their blinged up holiday sweaters. And, they seem to rock them, and are so confident wearing them. We just picked up their new holiday sweaters for this year -- sorry, but they don't want me to share photos of them in their sweaters, as they get a kick out of the sweater reveal at holiday parties. I was recently sent two pairs of holiday socks -- snowman and Santa in shades -- from the kind folks at Love Sock Company, and hoped to keep them for myself to wear.
But, as soon as my girls saw the socks arrive in the mail, they called dibs on them, and said they would pair well with their holiday sweaters. They grabbed the socks and put them on. Both let out "ehhs and ahhs" as they slipped on these oh so comfy socks, which are made with 85% organic cotton.

I have always loved watching my girls open up their socks and underwear from me at the holidays and roll their eyes in disappoint. Now, this year, I don't see that happening, as they will be all smiles when they unwrap an assortment of Love Sock Company socks. And, you know what?...I don't mind, as I am just glad they will actually wear the socks and make sure they keep the pairs together, so they can wear and enjoy for a long time to come. Usually when they have a pair of socks they are not a fan of, they don't care if one goes missing. I have a whole bag of lone socks hoping they find their match one day.
