I wanted to share about a few new releases from the folks at Mill Creek Entertainment, that are sure to delight fans of television comedies, parodies and even crime shows from the 70's.

Check them out....

Available on Blu-ray and on DVD!
About Happy Endings:

"Take six twentysomething Chicago friends, add cocktails and hormones, shake and you've got Happy Endings, the hilarious comedy that asks:  "When a couple splits, who gets to keep the friends?"

Dave (Zachary Knighton, TV's Flashforward) finds fulfillment manning a food truck after losing his hot fiancĂ©, Alex (Elisha Cuthbert, TV’s 24), at the altar. Alex's type-A sister, Jane (Eliza Coupe, TV's Future Man), is almost happily married to horn-dog Brad (Damon Wayans Jr., TV's New Girl). Dave's roommate, Max (Adam Pally, TV's The Mindy Project), is a gay, sports-loving slob, and Penny (Casey Wilson, TV's SNL) is on the prowl for a good man...or men.
The laughs are nonstop as they do what tightly-knit friends do best: hang out, have fun, debate the meaning of life, hook up, break up, and do it all over again!"

My Thoughts:

I was looking for a new series to get into recently, and stumbled across Happy Ending, which originally aired on ABC.  I remember a few friends used to watch this 20-something series, and were always talking it up.  So, I thought I would give a few episodes a try and see what this popular series was all about.  As you can tell from the clip above, this is a television comedy which follows a group of 20-somethings living in Chicago above love, break ups, friendship and just getting through the ups and downs of life in general.

I found myself getting into the show, and was happy that Mill Creek Entertainment released the complete series to DVD, so that I could watch all the episodes (20 hours and 20 minutes in total), while also enjoying bonus content including deleted scenes, outtakes, parodies and cast interviews.  I am only halfway through the series, and am loving it.  I should have watch Happy Endings back when it was airing on television.  But, at least now I don't have to worry about commercials or waiting until next week to catch another episode.

If you are you looking for a comedy series to binge watch or were a fan of Happy Endings back when it aired on television and want to relive some of your favorite moments from the popular series, then you will want to pick up the Happy Endings: The Complete Series, available now from Mill Creek Entertainment.

Season 1 and 2 Now Available on Blu-ray and on DVD!

About Documentary NOW!:

"Saturday Night Live compatriots Fred Armisen, Bill Hader and Seth Meyers serve as creators, executive producers and writers of this IFC original series, using their love of documentary films and combining it with comedy to present a unique take on the form. Hosted by Dame Helen Mirren and starring Armisen and Hader, each episode is shot in a different documentary film style, paying tribute to some of the most important stories that didn't actually happen.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels also executive produces Documentary Now!, and guest stars include Jack Black, John Slattery, Anne Hathaway, Maya Rudolph, Mia Farrow, Peter Fonda, Paul Thomas Anderson, Faye Dunaway, Cameron Crowe and more!"

My Thoughts:

If you are a fan of comedians Bill Hader and Fred Armisen from SNL, then you will Documentary NOW!.  These two comedic geniuses come together to parody some of the world's best-known documentaries, like only they can.  Through different filming styles, Armisen and Hader re-create important stories that didn't actually happen, while making you laugh out loud.

I used to watch Documentary Now! clips on YouTUbe, but was excited when I heard the folks at Mill Creek Entertainment were releasing Season 1 and 2 of this popular series to DVD and Digital.  Now I would be able to watch some of my favorite episodes over and over again, as well as ones I have missed.

If you love SNL skits and parodies, then you will love watching Documentary NOW!, which is hosted by Helen Mirren, and executive produced by Seth Meyers.  My husband and I have bee watching a few episodes a night and watched both Season 1 and 2 (14 episodes in total) in a week's tim.  This was a great way to relax and get a few laughs in after a long day.  We can't wait for more DVDs from this popular series to release so that we can pick up and watch, time and again.

About this DVD:

"The story you are about to see is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. Taking the successful radio program to the new medium of television, Dragnet was famous for its use of actual Los Angeles Police Department case files. Jack Webb portrays Sgt. Joe Friday, who works the dayshift with his partners on a variety of interesting cases. This program was reincarnated in 1967; eight years after its first television series had ended, with Jack Webb reprising his role of Sgt. Joe Friday.  Just The Facts, Ma'am!"

My Thgouhts:

Growing up, I used to look forward to one on one time with my Dad after he got home from work.  He was a police officer, so worked all the time, and usually had details that had him working late into the nights.  But, when he would return, he would reheat his dinner, and sit and watch television to unwind.  One show that he always seemed to watch was Dragnet.  This was a popular television series back in the late 60's and early 70's, and followed Sgt. Joe Friday, played by Jack Webb, who was always trying to crack interesting cases. I wondered why my Dad, after working long hours as a police officer would want to come home and watch a police show, but when I sat down to watch it with him, I found myself getting hooked, and wanting to see if Sgt. Joe Friday could solve the cases he was assigned to.

I was excited when I heard that Mill Creek Entertainment was releasing a DVD + Digital that included 20 full-length episodes of this popular television series on 2 DVDs.  I knew just the person who would want to sit and watch some of the episodes with me. :-)  When visiting with my parents recently, I brought this 2-DVD set up and loved seeing his eyes light up and have a big grin on his face. It had been a long time since we both had watched a Dragnet episode so it was nice sitting on the couch like the good old days, and watching some of our favorite episodes together again.

This is definitely a must have DVD for Dragnet fans, and would make for a great stocking stuffer this upcoming holiday season.  At only $6.99, you can't go wrong for this 2-DVD collection.
