Sourcebooks

My girls love having me read to them, and I love being able to share books that not only they find enjoyable, but get them excited about learning and reading.  I grew up loving books and can’t wait until the girls are able to read more and be able to grab a book from the shelf and read.  There is something amazing about being able to read a story and be whisked away in that moment of time, as you enjoy a great book. But, in the meantime, I am enjoying all the snuggling up close I get to do with the girls when we read books throughout the day and at bedtime.  And, this past week, there is a new favorite book of my daughter Bella’s, that we have to read together, and it features her.  Yes, you read that right, a book that starts Miss Arabella, complete with her name filling the pages and even photos of her. :-)  Thanks to the folks at Put Me in the Story, Arabella is able to go on a fun Easter adventure every night, when we snuggle up and read this personalized book I made especially for her.  The book is called “Arabella’s Easter Surprise,” and this is just one of many Easter-themed books and gifts you can choose from and personalize for that special child in your life.

If you read my blog regularly, then you know how much I loved personalized books. They make great birthday and holiday gift for kids, and always bring a smile to a child’s face when they see their name on the color and then flip open the book to find themselves in the book with a photo and their names.  My girls think it is really cool.  If only they had books like this when I was growing, as I would have loved to have been given one.  Wouldn’t you agree? :-)

Unlike other personalized books I have made for my girls in which they are girl in the story, this time Bella is a magic bunny, who ends up turning into the Easter Bunny.  And, what is the job of the Easter Bunny?  To deliver and hide Easter eggs for all the children to find on Easter morning.  When I first read this book to Bella I didn’t tell her what her character would be.  I wanted to find out for herself.  She giggled when she heard me read she was a cute bunny.  Her eyes grew even bigger when she saw that she was not just your ordinary bunny, but the Easter Bunny.

As we read through the story, she started to notice eggs throughout the pages that were numbered.  I told this was an added feature of the story.  While we read the books she had to keep an eye out for 20 numbered eggs. When she found one she would point it out.  And, hopefully by the time we reached the end of the book, she would have found all 20 eggs hidden throughout the book.  Bella really enjoyed this interactive feature of the book, and it kept her attention as she couldn’t wait for me to flip the page and look for another hidden egg or two.  If you have trouble locating the hidden eggs, not to worry as the last few pages of the book provide an answer key for you. :-)

Out of all the other Easter-themed books I have created for my girls, they both agree that is their favorite.  They love the idea of being the Easter bunny and then having to look for the eggs as I read the story to them.  This personalized book would make for a great Easter basket filler for that special child in your life.  Or, if you are looking for a fun way to get your child excited about Easter, why not create this personalized book just for them and read it at bedtime.  They will fall in love with the cute story, which reminded Bella a little of “The Night Before Christmas” with some of the wording.   This is one Easter book I know my girls will not grow tired of listening, and one Arabella will enjoy for years to come.

So, with only a few weeks until Easter, take the guesswork out what special gift to get and fill your child’s Easter basket with.  Head on over to Put Me in the Story and create this cute personalized book and get ready to see your child’s eyes light up when they see their name on the cover and find out they are the Easter bunny, as you read this cute story about Easter to them.
