Alice Through the Looking Glass

I have been waiting for today to get here for a few months now.  After a friend reminded me about “Alice Through the Looking Glass”  arriving on DVD on October 18th, I have have made it a point to have a little countdown of my own, as I have really wanted to see this movie.  Why?  Not only am I a huge Johnny Depp fan, but I grew up loving all things Alice and Wonderland and Lewis Carroll's ever-popular, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland."

I was never a girly girly when I was little, thanks in part to having two older brothers and wanting to do everything they did.  But, when it came to tea parties, I went all out, just as if I was having my own Mad Tea Party with Alice, the Mad Hatter and others joining in.  Oh, how I loved flipping through my "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" books imagining all the fun had a tea party.  Then, thanks to the movies I was able to see a mad tea party come to love and that is when my love for all things Alice grew even more.

Flash forward to today and not only do I get to share Lewis Carroll's Alice Adventures in Wonderland with my girls for the first time, but I also get to gather my girlfriends for girls night in and have my own grown up mad tea party viewing party, with the help of the new “Alice Through the Looking Glass” available today on DVD, Blu-ray and digital.  But, my girlfriends will have to wait for the weekend for our get-together.  In the meantime, I will be enjoying all the bonus features that make up the extensive bonus section of the DIGITAL HD/SD & BLU-RAY.  Want to see what I am talking about?  Check out what you get when you purchase the DIGITAL HD/SD & BLU-RAY version of "Alice Through the Looking Glass," available today, there's a lot...

*Bonus features may vary by Digital Retailer

When it comes to bonus features, what do you like to check out first?  I go for the deleted scenes section to see if there were scenes that tell more about the story or give further insight to character plot and development.  Then, I always look to see if there are music videos or scores.  While I am not musically inclined myself, I love motion picture soundtracks, and this one has some great music including my favorite P!nk song of all time, "Just Like Fire,"  If you have seen the music video for this song, it will give you an idea of just how fun the movie really is.

Another favorite bonus feature was the A Stitch in Time: Costuming Wonderland, where Three-time Oscar®-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood  talked about her inspiration  to the characters' costume choices.  I really found this feature fascinating as I always wondered about the small details, like the spools of thread on Johnny's Depp vest in the movie.  Really cool, even if you don't like clothing and design.

I could go on and on about how wonderful the bonus features of this new release, or how you will just love this film.  But, instead, why not pick up a copy and share it with your family for an upcoming family movie night, or excuse to get the girlfriends together?  This is one movie that will have you talking about the story, music and little details, making it a classic, you want to see time and again.
