Highlights recently introduced 15 new Hidden Picture books at Barnes & Noble for children in the age groups 4 and up, 6 and up, and 8 and up.
The books are just $9.95, and each contains over 80 pages of find-it fun for your child. They are a great way to keep kids entertained while traveling to Grandma’s house this holiday season, or for an indoor snow-day activity. Recently, I had the opportunity to check out some of the Hidden Pictures books with Savannah, and had a blast doing so.
Does your child love stickers? Ever since Savannah was able to peel stickers from sticker sheets around 2 yrs. old, she has been in love with stickers. I don't know how old I was when I fell in love with stickers, but I do remember covering my trapper keepers, notebooks and posters with stickers growing up. So, I guess it is only fitting to have children who have similar loves. :-) But, when it comes to stickers, I have had to make a point to remind the girls that they are for sticker books, to put on paper, etc. and not on walls or the hardwood floors. At one point, one of our freshly painted living room walls was covered in stickers, as the girls mistook it for a blank canvas and went to town one afternoon. After the final sticker was peeled off days later, I made a point to stock up on sticker books and scrapbooks for the girls to add their prized stickers to. But, after awhile, they got bored with these sticker storage books, and stopped asking for stickers.
Thanks to Highlights and their Hidden Pictures Sticker Books, Savannah is back to loving stickers, as she practicing her hidden picture searching skills. I don't know about you, but hidden picture books were always a favorite of my growing up. To this day, I love picking up these books for fun coffee table reads, or to use when I need to clear my head. I never knew they had books available for my daughter's age level, so it was great to learn more about the Hidden Picture Books from Highlights recently, and be able to try them out firsthand.
During our daily one-on-one activity time, either my husband or I would ask Savannah what she would want to do together. Since receiving her goodie bag full of Highlights Hidden Picture books and a fun hidden objects jigsaw puzzle, she has been asking for us to help her with a few hidden picture scenes. Savannah is in charge of applying the stickers. :-) And, more times than not, she is the one who finds the hidden pictures first. :-) What a fun way to spent quality time with young child. These books also come in handy on the go, when you need to keep your kids entertained at the doctor's office, on the way to visit family and friends, or waiting for older siblings in the pick-up line at school. Wherever these books are enjoyed, they will provided hours of fun and hidden search enjoyment for both kids and their parents. I can't wait to pick up more Hidden Pictures Sticker books from Highlights at Barnes and Noble to fill my daughter's stocking with, as well as give to my nieces and nephews this holiday season.
