Gift Idea for Wine Lovers -- CapaBunga -- Reusable Caps for Your Wine Bottles (Review)

Disclosure:  I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Who here loves wine?  Everyone?  :-)  Well then, I have the perfect gift for you this holiday season...CapaBunga caps.

What are CapaBunga caps, you ask?

"CapaBunga® is a reusable silicone cap that reseals a bottle of wine after you remove the cork. It’s made to resemble the bungs used to seal barrels during winemaking. Once you remove the cork and re-seal the bottle with a CapaBunga®, it is liquid tight and the bottle can rest on its side or even upside down without leaking. No more jamming the cork back in the bottle, no more rearranging the fridge to fit an open bottle in the door. The open bottle can also be stored on it’s side in the fridge or on a wine rack. CapaBunga® fits virtually every wine bottle.

CapaBunga® was invented by two winery owners in Northern California’s Wine Country for use on their own wine, Rua. The 2 pack Slogan line was released by the company in late 2011. CapaBunga® was recently awarded a patent for their product."

If I hadn't stumbled across the CapaBunga website a few months ago, I wouldn't have known about these reusable caps for your wine bottles.  But, I am so glad that I did, as they came in especially handy this Thanksgiving, with all the wine bottles family and friends brought to pop open and enjoy with dinner and dessert.

I don't know about you, but unless I have a good wine opener handy, my top-drawer wine opener always seems to destroy the cork, making it impossible to re-cork the bottle and save for another day.  And, there is no way with little ones in the house, that I will put an unsealed bottle of wine in the refrigerator, for them to knock over or worse, get into, thinking it was juice.

But, thanks to these fun silicone reusable caps from CapaBunga, you can finally store opened bottles of wine upright or sideways in your refrigerator or wine case, until the next time you need a glass of wine. Even though we finished off most of the bottles of wine that were brought to enjoy, I did have to do some moving and shifting in the refrigerator to accommodate leftover food and the wine bottles. But, at least I was restricted on space in order to keep the wine bottle upright to prevent spilling.  Instead, I put on the CapaBunga holiday themed caps I was sent to review, and was able to store two opened wine bottles on their sides on the upper shelf in the refrigerator.  As soon the CapaBunga caps were put on, the wine bottle was sealed.  If I wanted to, I could have shook the bottle tilted, etc., and the contents would stay put.

I personally love not having to rearrange my fridge for open wine bottles, or end up having to pour half full bottles, as I am afraid the girls will get into them if I left an open bottle on the shelf door.  And, once these reusable caps are on the bottles, you will find those who reach for the bottle will ask where you got these cool caps, as they will want them for themselves. :-)  The CapaBunga caps were a hit with guests, and one item many were adding to their holiday wish lists. I pulled up the website to show guests that in addition to the "Naughty and Nice" cap set I was sent from the kind folks at CapaBunga, the following reusable wine caps were also available, and would make for great holiday and birthday gifts for wine lovers, or even as a house warming or wedding gift along with bottle of wine, or as a corporate gift.  However you choose to share these unique reusable wine caps from CapaBunga, they are sure to be a hit, as they will be used each and every time a new bottle of bubbly is popped open!  Just think with New Year's Eve around the corner, these reusable caps will come in handy if you have leftover bottles of champagne to store.

Wine Preserve by CapaBunga® prevents wine spoilage. By using the same inert gases used in the production and bottling of wine it displaces harmful oxygen meaning your wine will last for days, weeks and even months.

Wine Preserve by CapaBunga® blankets the wine's surface in the bottle - it will not strip out a wine's aromas unlike vacuum devices.

Ultimate Wine Preservation Kit includes one can of CapaBunga® Wine Preserve (120 uses) and 3 CapaBunga® caps. It is available for purchase here.
