Summary:

What should Elmo and Cookie Monster put into their alphabet vegetable soup? As the two chefs work their way from A to Z, they consider an ingredient for every letter, from the obvious to the simply silly. Should they use apples? Not for vegetable soup! Broccoli and carrots? Yes! What about dishtowels or feathers? Of course not! Tots will have fun helping to decide what will make the yummiest soup—and they'll learn the alphabet, too. A large lift-the flap-at the end of this sturdy board book reveals Elmo, Cookie, and friends enjoying the finished soup as the noodles form an alphabetical panorama rising from the pot.

My Thoughts:

Savannah loves Sesame Street like so many other children (and their parents).  I grew up watching Sesame Street, and am happy to see Savannah enjoying it as much as I did.  Her favorite characters are Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abby Cadabby.  So, when I received this book and showed her, she went crazy when she saw it contained Elmo and Cookie Monster.  Since receiving this book to review, we have been reading this book at least once a day.  Savannah loves lifting the flaps, as  I read this educational story about creating the perfect vegetable soup, while also teaching her the alphabet.  Through the use of Sesame Street characters and large colorful vegetables, young children will love listening to you read this story out loud.  I make a point to point to each vegetable and tell Savannah what it is, as well as the letter is begins with. Toddler will love helping you decide which ingredients to add to the pot, in order to make a tasty soup for Elmo and his friends.  I loved reading this book with Savannah, and in just one reading, it has become a favorite story time book to read. If you are looking for a great book to share with your little, which is not only entertaining, but teaches young children the alphabet at the same, then you will love this book, and must add it to your book collection.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book by the publisher in order to write up an hones review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
