My girls still love when I get The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! DVDs in the mail to review.  Even though they don't watch the show every day like they used when they were little, they love to watch the new DVDs when they come in the mail to review, and then find themselves grabbing past The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About That! DVD releases to watch again.  It is something about this show that makes watching the episodes over and over never boring. Both kids and adults sit and enjoy watching the episodes, and walk away learning something new.  I love being able to incorporate different episodes from this hit animated PBS Kids series into our homeschooling, as I find the girls grasp a concept or topic much better seeing it in a fun, educational episode with everyone' favorite cat. :-)

My Thoughts:

As I mentioned above, both of my girls started watching the Octonauts when they were little, and continue to watch this hit animated series to this day.  What my girls love about this educational series is that they learn all about marine life and explore oceans near and far, without having to leave the couch.  The Octonauts make learning about the different creatures featured, fun and entertaining, and it never feels like they are sitting for an educational lesson. But, when they shut the television off, they can't stop talking about what they just watched and learned.

My youngest was so excited when she saw the Octonauts Season 3 Gift Set arrive at our door the other day, as she saw that the gift set came with two character speeder toys to play with.  The girls have their fair share of Octonauts toys, but don't any of these small speeders, so they were both excited to get these cute toys, which fit in your hands for carrying around at home, or on the go.  In addition to the fun speeders, my girls also liked that this DVD included 23 full-length episodes from Season 3.  They both agreed that this season was their favorite, and were happy to have a DVD to watch time and again, all their favorite episodes. 

If you have an Octonauts fan in your life, this is definitely one DVD gift set you'll want to pick up and share, or pack away and give at the holidays.

My Thoughts:

Were you a fan of The Adventures of Gumby growing up?  My brothers and I used to watch Gumby every Saturday morning as part of our Saturday cartoon day.  Not only were the episodes fun and entertaining, but they were wholesome and always had a lesson that you could take away and apply to your life.  There were a handful of shows my mom would let us watch, as they had age appropriate content, and this was one of them.  Now that I have kids of my own, I love that Gumby is still relevant, and that there are DVDs to share with my girls, to introduce them to a show I grew up watching, and loved.

This new DVD release contains 49 full-length clay-animated episodes, all fully re-mastered.  As the DVD title suggests, this DVD contains episodes from the 1980's.  I grew up in the 80's and love all things 80's...so, I love when they re-release shows and movies from my youth, to own now. My girls have been enjoying these clay-animated cartoons, and have commented on how they like the story lines and are now fans of Gumby and Pokey. :-)  Now I get to relive some of my favorite childhood memories of Gumby, when is sit to watch episodes from this DVD with them. :-)

When my girls were little, I used to love reading Llama Llama books to them at bedtime. Not only were they cute stories, oftentimes having the girls laugh with their little belly laughs, but they always had a lesson or take away message with each story.  Even though my girls were young to pick up on these life lessons, I would sit in bed with them and talk to them about the story and show how the stories could relate to my girls' life, and how they could use what they learned in the story to help them grow and flourish.  As the girls got older, they requested this award-winning book series from Anna Dewdney...that was, until the books were brought to life in a fun new animated series, which airs on Netflix.  The girls stumbled upon this popular series when they were looking for movies featuring one of their favorite actresses, Jennifer Garner.  Netflix recommend the animated series Llama Llama, and the girls sat and watched a few episodes.

It didn't take long for my girls to get hooked on this animated, and want to watch all the episodes.  And, when they weren't watching this series on Netflix, they were rummaging through their bookcases looking for all their Llama Llama books by Anna Dewdney to read, or have me read to them at bedtime.  :-)  I used to love reading these Llama Llama books to them when they were little, and love how we can enjoy them now, and talk all about the stories and important lessons shared in each, as well as enjoy all the fun and adventure that Llama Llama takes readers on with each and every book -- in addition to this now carrying over into the ever popular animated series on Netflix.

My girls were so excited to get the new Llama Llama's Best Summer Ever! on DVD from NCircle Entertainment, as this was the first DVD from this Netflix series to own. My girls had never heard of this series, but love animals, especially zoo animals, so they were excited to sit and watch the episodes. Even though this series is geared towards the younger crowd -- preschoolers and pre-k age, my girls still enjoyed watching the episodes.  They loved seeing the animals share in fun adventures in the jungle and see how these animals are all friends.  They works together and help each other out during these fun-filled adventures, which also include laughs along the way.  If you are looking for a wholesome series for your kids to watch that centers around friendship and is filled with cute jungle animals, then you will have to pick up this new DVD, which is only $5.00 and contains 8 full-length episodes today!

My youngest daughter loves the Floogals, thanks to previous DVDs we were sent from the kind folks at NCircle Entertainment.  So, when she saw this DVD arrive the other day, she couldn't wait to sit down and watch it.  Not only are the characters and story lines fun and enjoyable to watch, but my daughter loves how they teach about science and STEM topics throughout the episodes. 

In this particular DVD, kids will enjoy the following five full-length episodes, which are perfect as we welcome in spring, Easter and the nice weather with more time being spent outdoors as family...

Each of these episodes will spark your child's imagination as they follow along as the Floogals go on exciting adventures, filled with observation and discovery.  My youngest really enjoyed this DVD, especially the egg hunt episode, which she was laughing throughout.  She liked how the Floogals thought they were helping clean up by picking up the eggs they found in the yard, only to learn they were placed there for an egg hunt.  And, the Project Kite episode had my daughter asking if we could go to the beach to fly her kite, and then maybe enjoy a picnic afterwords.

All of these episodes are full of adventure, and will have young children excited to learn and explore with the Floogals, as they learn new things.  I highly recommend this series for young learners.  And, at only $5.00 for this DVD, you can't go wrong for the price.

I used to read the "Guess How Much I Love You" books to my girls when they were babies, and was excited when they came out with animated television series based on the books by Sam McBratney.  My girls and I used to watch the show on television, and they loved seeing their favorite characters from the books I read them at bedtime, come to life on the television screen.  This Easter special is 30 minutes in length, and covers the following themes -- friendship, believing, togetherness and Easter.  

My girls and I sat and watched this DVD the other day, and really enjoyed it.  It got the girls excited about Easter and the Easter Bunny's upcoming arrival.  Even though we haven't read the "Guess How Much I Love You" books in awhile as the girls are reading books on their own now, they still enjoy watching this series, especially when new DVDs release like this one.  

If you are looking for a cute Easter movie to share with your kids and love the "Guess How Much I Love You" books, then you will definitely want to pick up this new DVD, which is available now.  This is one of those DVDs you will look forward to watching each year, when spring and Easter roll around.

Entertainment that Educates!

It has been awhile since my girls sat and watched Yo-Kai Watch. My husband and girls have gotten through 6 of the 13 episodes over the course of this past week, and they are looking for next weekend to get here so that they can watch more.  If you have a Yo-Kai Watch fan -- either of the game, movies or the television series, then you will want to check out this limited gift set.  The comic book alone would make any Yo-Kai Watch fan smile, but when you pair it with the above 13 full-length episodes, it is a must have for fans.

My Thoughts:

Even though I received this DVD after Valentine's Day, my girls still sat and watched it last week, as they both love Dr. Seuss and the Cat in the Hat.  Don't forget this upcoming weekend is Dr. Seuss's birthday and many places are celebrating his birthday with special events.  We will be going to Target for their free Dr. Seuss Event, as well as a nearby library offering crafts and story time.

DVDs like this, even though holiday themed, can be enjoyed by kids (and adults) year round.  This particular DVD includes the following full-length, already aired episodes from the popular The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That television series:

• Pick Your Friends
• Wool
• Leaves

The theme of the three episodes is friendship, and is perfect to share with your kids, as they watch Nick, Sally, Fish and the Things, oh yeah, and the Cat, celebrate their friendships on Valentine's Day.  My girls really enjoyed the three episodes that make up this DVD, and have since watched it a handful of times since receiving last week.  They even let their friend borrow it this weekend, as they knew it would be rainy and cold, and their friend is a fan of this animated PBS Kids series.  :-)   This DVD is a must for fans of the shows, and would be great to pick up to watch now, and when Valentine's Day rolls around next year, and for years to come.
