Just because Halloween is over, doesn't mean that you can't enjoy Disney's classic Hocus Pocus.  My youngest LOVES all things Hocus Pocus.  She has been each of the Sanderson Sisters the past three years for Halloween, and my oldest went as Binx this year.  I have lost count on how many times we have watched both Hocus Pocus movies each year. All I know is that the girls and I are partial to the first one.  We also make a point to visit Salem, MA each year to walk by places from the movies.  This year, the original kids from the first movie paid a special visit to Salem, so we were able to meet them in person, which was cool.  I liked seeing my girls' smiling meeting the actors/actresses now after watching the original movie for the past 5 years.

I was excited when Ulysses Press released a kids cookbook for fans of Hocus Pocus, as I knew my two girls would love helping me review it, and it would give us an excuse to bake and cook up tasty treats and meals with a Hocus Pocus theme.  We did a few movie nights where we paired things like the Twist Thy Chicken Fingers and Newt Saliva and Fries along with the Life Potion drink and Puritan Hat Cookies for dessert.  There are so many great recipes in the The Unofficial Hocus Pocus Cookbook, and we are having fun making our way through the cookbook, making each and every recipe.  So far we have done half the recipes and haven't found one yet that we didn't enjoy making or eating.

If you have a young Hocus Pocus fan in your life who likes to cook and bake, why not consider picking them up this cookbook for a gift this holiday season. This is one of those gifts they will enjoy time and time again, as these recipes will never get boring.

Plus, when Halloween rolls around next year, they will have fun planning themed movie nights making some of the recipes like we did prior to sitting down with the family, to enjoy a tasty dinner and dessert Hocus Pocus style.
