"To the Moon and Back," Two-Book Gift Set from Candlewick Press Would Make a Great Gift Idea for New Parents and Little Ones This Holiday Season (Review)

Books always make for a great gift idea for birthday and holidays, as they never got old or boring for kids, and are great to have on hand for bedtime reading and spending quality time with your kids, enjoying a good book. Even though my girls are reading middle grade books on their own, they still love to cuddle up with me on the couch or in bed at bedtime to read a good book. We will usually read a chapter or two of a book they are currently reading, or they'll grab a book from their bookcase that we used to read together when they were little, to read again.  One book that continues to be a favorite with my girls and that I love is "Guess How Much I Love You" I used to read this to them when they were little, and then at the very end, extend my arms and ask if they knew how much this was, as it showed just how much I loved them. They would always giggle and then jump in my lap for a long snuggle.  While they are too old and big to jump in my lap, we always end this book reading with a long hug, which I love, as I know as they get older they will not want to hug or think it is cool to read this book with their mom...so, I am cherishing all these bedtime readings and lingers hugs with them.

With the holidays fast approaching, I am looking for great gift ideas to share with you, as well as pick up and gift to family and friends. After receiving an advanced cop of the this two-book gift set from Candlewick Press, I know this will be top on my list to gift to new and expectant mom friends of mine, as well as make sure each of my girls have a set so they can enjoy now and have when they are older and have children of their own, to share these two heartwarming stories with.  I really like how these two books come in a nice slipcase gift set, that is sturdy enough to keep the books in nice condition as your kids get older.  They fit perfectly on a bookshelf, or left out on a coffee table to quickly grab and read with your kids.

More about this two-book gift set:

"It’s the book that gave rise to the words “I love you right up to the moon—and back”—a phrase that’s now in the common vernacular. This tale of a big and little hare who boast of loving each other as high as they can hop and as wide as they can reach has been adored by a generation of children who’ve begun sharing it with their own. Twenty-five years after the Nutbrown Hares met the world, creators Sam McBratney and Anita Jeram brought us the perfect companion—the story of Little Nutbrown Hare’s jubilant steps toward independence after meeting a new friend. Now, in an elegant slipcase, Guess How Much I Love You and Will You Be My Friend? find a special spot together on bookshelves—a pairing sure to be coveted by big and little readers for generations to come.

In an ideal gift for little ones, the family classic Guess How Much I Love You and its sequel, Will You Be My Friend?, nestle together in a beautifully designed boxed set."
