This Cookbook Will Put a Spell on You: THE UNOFFICIAL HOCUS POCUS COOKBOOK (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a review copy by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

My girls were so excited the other day when we went to the store, as they already have all the Halloween and even Christmas stuff out.  And, as we drove to the store we noticed our Halloween costume store was now open, too, so we had to make a stop there after grabbing stuff at the store.

After walking up and down the aisles in the Halloween store, my girls decided what they wanted to be for Halloween. And, my youngest also finally decided on the type of birthday party she wanted this year.  Hocus Pocus costumes were purchased, as well as some home decor and goods. And, when I got home, we looked online and bought some paper goods and a cake topper.  All this Hocus Pocus inspiration and excitement started my girls on a countdown to Halloween and my daughter's 10th birthday.

We decided that we would also take a trip to Salem, MA to take photos outside of locations and buildings seen in the original Hocus Pocus movie, and were excited to learn that they would be filming the sequel in Providence, RI, right near us...how cool.

Well if having Hocus Pocus costumes and birthday party supplies wasn't enough, we started to watch the movie, knowing it would become a weekly thing until Halloween, like it has been done in years past.  Freeform always has this playing during their Halloween movie line up, but they don't go crazy like us in having it on over and over again.  Sometimes my girls will put it on as background noise, or will watch it two times in a row.  They don't grow tired of the movie, and after seeing so many Hocus Pocus fan in Salem, MA recently, and growing up a fan of this movie, I can see why it is still so popular, and why there was a need for a second movie to be made.  People (kids and adults) can't get enough of this movie, and the characters, and they'll want to get their hands on anything Hocus Pocus.  Today, I wanted to share a super cool cookbook we were recently sent for review, and that my girls and I are loving.  After reading through the "The Unofficial Hocus Pocus Cookbook," we decided that we would make everything in the cookbook, and enjoy when we sit down for a Hocus Pocus movie viewing. We love having themed movie nights with crafts and snacks to enjoy prior to putting on a movie to watch. And, thanks to this cookbook, there are so many great ideas for making tasty treats and drinks, that will only make our Hocus Pocus movie nights that much more fun and memorable.

Are you a big Hocus Pocus fan, or know someone who is?  Then, you will definitely want to check out this unofficial cookbook chock full of Hocus Pocus themed delights to satisfy your taste buds as you settle in for a spooky good time with the Sanderson sisters.  :-)

We have only had this cookbook for a short time, but have been busy in the kitchen whipping up so many great and spooktacular recipes like Dead Man’s Toes Sausage Appetizers, William’s Wormy Grave Tombstone Cake, virgin mocktails, pumpkin soup, and an amazing tasting pasta dish.

Because of this cookbook, I think we are watching the movie more than we usually would -- sometimes 2-3 times a week.  And, we can't sit for the movie, unless we have made a recipe or two from this cookbook. My youngest really wants to make all the recipes before Halloween, and has been flagging her favorites, so we can make again for her birthday, as she will be having a sleepover and doing fun Hocus Pocus crafts with her friends, before having a fun Hocus Pocus movie night complete with a dinner cooked up by the girls with the help of this cookbook, and then having tasty desserts and treats to enjoy along with their virgin mocktails while watching this movie.

I could go on and on about how well put together this Hocus Pocus cookbook is, but, instead, why don't you check it out for yourself. If you are a true Hocus Pocus fan, you'll love this cookbook.  You can find at most bookstores, as well as online over at Amazon.

More about this cookbook:

"Hocus Pocus first premiered 28 years ago in the golden age of ’90s cinema, and has since achieved cult-classic fame with both children and adults as a loyal fanbase. Fans fall in love with the delightful, demonic and diva-esque Sanderson Sisters and the sleepy New England town they torment.

Now as you plan your annual viewing of the family favorite flick, you can also conjure up your own spooky treats and bewitching drinks to celebrate Halloween.
