Introducing the New New Interactive Series "HAPPY COUNTRY" for Fans of the Richard Scarry Busytown Series - Review and #Giveaway

Disclosure: I was sent review copies from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All views shared are mine and mine alone.

Growing up, one of my favorite book series to have my mom read to me at bedtime was the Richard Scarry Busytown books.  This classic series was also one of the first that I was able to learn many sight words and start reading on my own.  I was so happy when I welcomed my oldest daughter, and my mom surprised me with my old collection of Richard Scarry Busytown books to share with my daughter.  I found myself remembering my childhood and how many great memories I had, especially at bedtime, snuggling up with my mom reading these books. And, now I was excited to share this classic series with my own daughter, and see her smile as I read the books to her, and then as she got older, saw her enjoying them on her own, just like I did when I started to read.

Flash forward to today, and I am excited to share a new series, HAPPY COUNTY, that gives a modern spin on the classic Richard Scarry Busytown books.  Even though my girls are older and reading chapter books on their own, they sat for me to read the first book "HELLO, WORLD!" in what I hope will be a long series from Macmillan Children's Publishing.

As soon as they saw the cover of the book, they were quick to point out how it looked like the Richard Scarry Busytown books they love.  They noticed it was a different author, and I pointed out that this was a fun new picture book series similar to the Busytown books, that I couldn’t wait to share with them, and knew that parents/grandparents of little ones would love learning about it.

I enjoyed reading this picture book with my girls, and they really enjoyed the playful and oh so colorful illustrations that filled the pages of this new release.  The characters were cute, and kids will fall in love with them, as they are introduced to them.

My girls especially liked Tina Tusker and Cheese Louise.  Being a dog lover, my oldest daughter really liked Ballpark Franky.  Their names are so cute and catch and will have kids laughing as you read this cute book to them.

I was very pleased with this first book in the HAPPY COUNTY series, and loved how it had that Richard Scarry Busytown feel, but with a more modern and fun spin.  The illustrations and conversation texts between characters will keep little ones engaged from start to finish. And, when you are done reading, your kids will ask to have it read to them again or want to sit with it and take in all the colorful illustrations and happenings going on in HAPPY COUNTY.

If you were a fan of Richard Scarry Busytown series books growing up, and have little ones, I highly recommend this new series.  And, be sure to be on the lookout for the second book in the series to be released on August 11th, SUN AND MOON TOGETHER.

I received an advanced copy of the book and have been enjoying it with my girls.  It is a wonderful read, just like HELLO, WORLD.  And, I can't wait to share more about the second book closer to its release date, along with a giveaway.  Speaking of giveaways, I am excited to offer one lucky Inspired by Savannah reader the chance to win a copy of the first book in the HAPPY COUNTY series, "HELLO, WORLD!" available starting today in stores and online.  To enter, please complete the entries on the Rafflecopter form below.  Good luck!
