Raise a Glass of Dixie Vodka This Valentine's Day to Celebrate Your Sweetheart + the Many Different Flavors of the South (Review)

I am hoping one day soon that we will make it back to the South.  It has been way too long since we visited Savannah, GA. And, I am longing to walk along the beach at Tybee Island, or walk the quaint streets with all the cute shops in Savannah, and even Charleston, SC.  Just the other day, I had a photo pop up on my Facebook feed showing me pregnant with our first daughter, who we ended up naming Savannah after Savannah, GA, with my husband on our final trip to the South.  We wanted to get in one final trip before we became first time parents.  Shortly after welcoming Savannah, we welcomed her sister 15 months later.  And, with the craziness of life and parenting, we haven't made it back...and, boy do I miss -- all that done home cooking and Southern hospitality.  There is nothing like it, and I can't wait to share this finally with my two girls.  They hear me talking about Savannah, GA and the South all the time, and we have photos all over the house of magnolia trees and landmarks from Savannah, GA.  Crossing my fingers one day soon we will make a trip there.  But, in the meantime, my husband and I have been enjoying a little Southern comfort in the form of vokda...Dixie Vokda to be exact.

The kind folks at Dixie Vodka sent along their Dixie Southern Vodkas, as well as their Dixie Wildflower Honey for my husband and I to enjoy, and to include in my Valentine's Day Gift Guide.  

We tried the two vodkas straight of the bottle, as well as made a handful of the cocktails that were found on their website here.  You don't have to be a mixologist or skilled bartender to mix up a great tasting night cap or drink to go along with your dinner, when reaching for Dixie Vodka.  While we did enjoy the two vodkas right from the bottle, we found the drink recipes we made were even tastier and helped elevate the flavors of these gluten-free vodkas.

Two drink recipes that were instant winners with us, and that you really must try out are the Southern Vodka-rita and the Honey Lavender Lemonade.  

I am also a fan of the Wildflower Hot Toddy in place of hot chocolate in the evenings, when I am trying to get the chill out of my system with the dropping temperatures.  

Each of these drinks were easy to make, and really do transport you the South, even if just in your head.  Who knew that a vodka could taste so good, and meld together different flavors that people associate with the South .  If you grew up in the South, or love the South like we do, then you really have to pick Dixie Vodka and try it for yourself.  We just finished off the two vodkas sent, and I can't wait to pick up and try the other 3 flavors, alone and with the different drink recipes provided over at the Dixie Vodka website.
