I love when I stumble along a new book publisher, especially around the holidays, as I love gifting family and friends with books. And, this year, I am pleased to share Insight Editions with you and two of their fun Christmas-themed books, the whole family will enjoy. The kind folk sat Insight Editions sent along their recent release, Star Wars: A Merry Sithmas Pop-Up Book, along with The Muppet Christmas Carol, which I knew my youngest daughter would LOVE as she is all about Jim Henson and puppetry at the moment. My Thoughts:
If you have a Star Wars fan in your life, this is a must have book for them. Kids and adults will love coloring in the pop up pieces and put it all together. My girls and husband have been coloring the pages and pop-up pieces after dinner the past few days. And, with the two snow days the past two days, my girls have put in more time coloring the pieces and pages, as they are eager to finish and put together this interactive holiday pop-up book. They are saving one more page to do with my husband tonight, and then they'll be done and ready to show off their completed Star Wars: A Merry Sithmas Pop-Up Book.
I love how this book includes festive stickers to add to the pop-up scenes, while my girls love the illustrations of their favorite Star Wars characters including Princess Leia and Chewbacca. It has been fun watching this pop-up book come together, and once done will be fun to sit and flip through together as a family, as we count down to Christmas and Santa's arrival. This is one book you will want to display at the holidays, so family and friends can check out, and see all the hard work that went into coloring the scenes and pop-up pieces. My girls really enjoyed working on the Star Wars: A Merry Sithmas Pop-Up Book, and are hoping there are other books like this one to do, as they love to color with my husband and I, and see the final product once done.

My Thoughts:
Like I mentioned above, my youngest daughter is really into puppetry and all things Jim Henson right now. She has been busy catching up on all the old The Muppet Show episodes from the 80's, along with all the Muppets movies that releases, thanks to Disney+. We kicked off our video holiday advent with The Muppet Christmas Carol, so I thought it would be fun to surprise her with this illustrated holiday classic, after watching the movie for the first time.
My daughter was all smiles when she saw the book, and curled up on the couch to read it the other night, when it arrived at our doorstep. I loved watching her sit there and read the book, sharing some of her favorite parts, as she read. Then, when she was done, she shared about this book was similar and different than the movie we watched the night before. I really like the bright and colorful illustrations in the book. You find yourself lingering on each page to take in all the detailing of the illustrations. And, they really help in bring this classic Christmas story to life. Come on, who doesn't love Kermit the Frog? He is Bob Cratchit in this cute retelling, which is narrated by the Great Gonzo. :-)
We have only had this book for a few days, but it has become a staple at bedtime each night. Either my daughter will head to bed a little early to read it, or she will ask me to read it after we read our nightly book advent selection. I am so happy to have stumbled upon Insight Editions and found this Muppets book. This is definitely going to be a book we read time and again, and will be out on the coffee table in the living room this holiday season, for family and friends to enjoy.
