Like I mentioned above, I was sent a Holiday Sampler from the folks at Amber Vale Home to try out, and have been burning the three candles in my home for the past few days. I first started off with Tennessee Christmas candle, which was evergreen + deciduous scented, as my girls wondered what a real pine tree would smell like, if we had cut one down and decorated it in place of our artificial tree. I always grew up with an artificial tree, and found it easier to take care and be able to store away and reuse this tree year after year, especially with the animals we have. But, I can see where my girls were coming from, and wanting to see how a real fresh cut tree would smell like in our home. I have bought and burned other so-called Christmas tree candles over the years, but none ever really smelled like an evergreen tree. That was, until I burned the evergreen candle from Amber Vale Home. If I hadn't known I was burning a candle, I myself, would have been fooled by the realistic scents of evergreen that filled my home. I had lit the candle in my open kitchen/dining area, but the smell of evergreen made its way through my house to each room, and everyone coming out to look for a real tree. When my girls and husband saw I was just burning a candle, they couldn't believe how realistic the scent was, and how it was able to travel throughout the first floor of our house like that.
Seeing just how wonderful the evergreen scented candle was, I couldn't wait to try the other two wooden-wicked, phthalate-free candles from Amber Vale Home. In addition the evergreen candle, the holiday sampler also contained Gathering (orange + clove) and With Extra Whip (peppermint + hot chocolate) candles to enjoy. Being a hot chocolate lover, I had to try out the With Extra Whip candle next. And, just like the Tennessee Christmas candle fooled us all into thinking we had a real evergreen tree in the house, the With Extra Whip made me crave a cup of hot chocolate with a peppermint stick to dip in it. Mmm, I am getting hungry just thinking about how delicious this candle smelled when lit.
As for the Gathering candle, this would be perfect to burn and enjoy during Thanksgiving dinner, as it has orange and clove scents, both of which you associate with turkey dinner and all the fixings. This year I am letting my parents host Thanksgiving dinner, but plan to buy and gift my mom the Amber Vale Home Holiday Sampler as a hostess gift and thank you for having us for Thanksgiving, as I know all the work that goes into prepping, cooking and cleaning up a Thanksgiving dinner for a crowd.
