OMG, have you been on Netflix lately and checking out the new additions? Yes, they have added some fun family-friendly holiday movies, but my girls and I are currently watching the Netflix Original series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, a 10-episode puppet-filled prequel to the 1982 classic cult film.
I was a child of the 80's and grew up watching Jim Henson's The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth, that was when I wasn't watching the Muppets. And, I still have baseball style cards that I collected every time the card collectors came to our local mall. Now, all these years later, I get to relive one of my favorite childhood films, which has become a cult classic through the years, with my two girls. And, recently, my youngest daughter has taken up puppetry and fallen in love with all things Jim Henson. She had read all the biography books about him, and seen all the old Muppets show movies and television episodes, along with all the classic Muppets movies. And, for her birthday a couple weeks ago, I was able to find old Muppets puppets from the 70's and 80's to surprise her with. She was all smiles when she unwrapped Miss Piggy (her personal favorite) and Kermit. Now, she along with her older sister are putting on puppet shows in the living room, that is, when we aren't watching the new The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance on Netflix.
If you are a fan of this new series on Netflix, or grew up watching and still love The Dark Crystal, I wanted to share some new books and even comic books that have released as a result of the new epic fantasy adventure series, all in time for the holidays. I know what I will be getting my daughter, as she is all about The Dark Crystal (old and the new series on Netflix). Maybe she will even let me read the books, as they really look cool, and something that fans of the original cult classic will love to get their hands, read and collect.

If you haven't checked out this new Netflix Original Series and love the cult classic, The Dark Crystal, you really must find time and watch it. I am not usually a fan of new versions of classics, but this new series is entertaining and is a great way to introduce your newer generations to The Dark Crystal. My girls love it, and it is a great way to enjoy quality family time together. And, now we will have to pick up these books that go along with the new Netflix series, to read and enjoy together. :-)
