Be Quick or You Will Get Zapped with the Fun New Slap Ninja Game from JAKKS Pacific (Review)

If you are looking for a gift that kids will be excited to find under the tree on Christmas morning, and be the gift that the whole family cannot stop playing with long after dinner is over, then look no further than Slap Ninja from JAKKS Pacific.

I was recently sent this game to play with my family, and even before I got it out of the package, my girls were trying it out, as you can slide your hand into the box to move the game around and make the ninja hand slap down. But, the real fun came when the Slap Ninja was out of the box and on the dining room table for everyone to have a shot to see if they were fast enough for the ninja hand or get zapped.

About Slap Ninja:

"Slap Ninja is the new, fast paced game that challenges your skills & reflexes! Win or get zapped! Play as the Ninja master and use his huge Karate Chop slap to defend the coin. Or, play as the student trying to tap the coin. The first player to defeat their opponent 3 times is the winner! The loser gets zapped!"

This game is geared for kids ages 4+ and needs a minimum of 2 players to play. But, the more people you have, the better, as you can play tournament style and see who is faster, and compete against each other to dwindle down the scoreboard.  You need three AAA batteries for the game, which are included - so, you can play it right out of the box, and not worry about not having enough of the batteries to get started.  I don't know about you, but even after stocking up on batteries for Christmas, come Christmas morning I am always short on batteries, and the girls get disappointed as they want to try out a game or toy and can't as I am one shy.  Never fun.  So, a game that already comes with batteries installed is always a great gift to give (or receive).

Before our family movie night this evening, my girls set up the Slap Ninja game and we took turns trying to tap the red coin in the ninja's hand fast enough, so we didn't get slapped with his other hand that the other player controls.

The person trying to tap the coin hold the handle below their side of the game...and if they miss and get their hand slapped, they also get a little zap, which the first time around will startle everyone, and then have everyone laughing, and want a rematch.  We used Slap Ninja tonight to see who would be choosing the movie for movie night.  We did the best 2 out of 3 game, and in the end, I surprised myself and came out on top, and got to choose the movie, which was a new Christmas one that everyone has been asking to see, so it was a win-win for all.

Every Saturday night we have family game night, and I expect Slap Ninja to be back on the table as my girls are already telling me they want a rematch.  They think I have been staying up late practicing this game -- as if!  This game is all about skill and reflexes, and is truly addicting.  Once you play Slap Ninja and get your hand slapped and a little zap, you will want to keep playing until you win.

Kids and adults will love playing this game, thus my comment in the beginning of my post that this is a must have gift to give as it will be played with long after you throw out all the wrapping paper and eat dinner.  Family and friends will love competing against each other to see who is the fasted and most skilled to not get slapped and zap by the ninja master. :-)
