Collector's Set (Available Exclusively at Walmart), a Completist's 22-Disc Set Featuring 50+ Hours of Improvisational Brilliance, and a Single Disc Release

The world has not been the same after losing comedic legend Robin Williams back in August 2014.  It was like a little twinkle of light went out, when we all learned of his passing. And, we will never get to laugh so hard and so joyfully like we did when we watched a Robin Williams stand up act, an effortless comedic performance in a movie like Mrs. Doubtfire, or when watching him appear on a late night television show.  Robin Williams was in a league of his own, and he really stood out amongst all the other comedians of his time.  It is just so unfortunate that his light dimmed too soon.  Now, we are just left with all of his wonderful movies, television series, clips, etc. to be reminded of this comedic genius.  And, now thanks to Time Life, we can now celebrate the life of Robin Williams and his 40-year career with the new "ROBIIN WILLIAMS: COMIC GENIUS" release.  This new Time Life release is available as a 5-Disc Collector's Set (Exclusively at Walmart), a Completist's 22-Disc Set featuring 50+ hours of improvisational brilliance, and a single disc release.

I was recently sent the 5-DVD set, which includes all 5 of Robin's legendary HBO specials (together for the first time), as well as exclusive bonus material including raw archival footage of Robin's early stand up days, promo shoot and press interviews and even new interviews with Lewis Black and Robin's manager David Steinberg.  This is definitely a must-own DVD for fans of Robin Williams, and would also make for a great holiday gift idea to pick up now and gift this holiday season.

To say that I am a huge Robin Williams fan is an understatement.  Not only do we share the same name :-), but I grew up watching this brilliant comedian on television, as my whole family loved him.  I remember setting the VCR to record his specials on television, and would find VHS tapes to put tape over so that I could record all the movies that he was in, so that I could watch them time and again.  I loved him in Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting, but I have to say the real brilliance and artistic genius came through with his stand up performances and HBO specials, as well as when we was playing Mork in the famous Mork & Mindy television series.  This is where I first saw Robin, and became a instant fan.  And, from then on, I had to see everything that he was in, and all his specials. And, now that Robin is now longer with us, all we are left with are DVD collections like this one to relive some of our favorite comedic moments from this one of a kind comedic genius.  There will never be another comedian like Robin, and his life and work will live on with all the specials, movies, television shows, etc. he left behind.  I have since introduced my two girls to Robin Williams, and from the moment they saw him play Mrs. Doubtfire and started laughing, I knew they fell in love with him, just like I did, and that they would be life-long fans.  Now, together as a family, we can enjoy all things Robin Williams with the new Time Life ROBIN WILLIAMS COMIC GENIUS available now on DVD.

Like I said, the holidays are fast approaching and this new DVD release (single, 5-DVD and 22-Disc Set) would make for a great gift idea for that special Robin Williams fan in your life. Or, if you love Robin like I do, then you will want to ask Santa for this new release, so that you can relive some our your favorite memories of this comic genius, and maybe even stumble on unseen footage or HBO specials that you may have missed, and be wowed all over again, by just how amazing a comic and genuine fun-loving guy, Robin Williams was.

More information:

"Robin Williams started performing stand-up comedy in the mid-'70s, amazing audiences with his frenetic energy and razor-sharp wit. Graced with comedic brilliance, rapid-fire improvisation, and a deep well of warmth and compassion that translated to everything he did, America quickly fell for him in his first role as the naïve and hilarious alien from the planet Ork in ABC-TV's Mork & Mindy. Rocketing to stardom, the generational talent would go on to do five HBO stand-up specials and dozens of feature films, performing steadily for nearly four decades and entertaining audiences across the globe.

On October 1, Time Life celebrated Williams' memorable, inimitable 40-year career with ROBIN WILLIAMSCOMIC GENIUS. Of the 22-disc collection, David Fear of Rolling Stone said "For fans, of course, the ability to collect so much Williams visual ephemera in one package is a gift from the gods. But for comedy-nerd completists, the sort of people who study the form and argue over the peaks of its practitioners, this intimidating set is close to a dream."

From comedy clubs to stadiums, from talk shows to USO tours, Williams continually amazed audiences with his frenetic energy and unbelievably quick wit.
