Abominable roars into theaters on September 27, 2019!

Are your kids counting down the days until DreamWorks Animation, Abominable, arrives in theaters on Sept. 27th? My girls have been counting down the days to this movie since early summer when they saw the official movie trailer when we were taking in another DreamWorks Animation release in theaters. And, as the release date nears, they are seeing Abominable toys and books releasing, and are even more excited to see this cute book, that will surely melt your heart.  If you cry at movies, you will definitely want to have tissues ready when you head to the theater.  I will be bringing tissues for my youngest daughter and I.

As my girls count down the days for this highly anticipated animated film release, my girls are learning all they can about the main characters featured in Abominable, thanks to a handful of new children's book releases from Simon & Schuster.  Recently, we were sent the following two picture books which released the end of August.  These are a great way to get your kids ready for this movie, as they give you a sneak peek into the film and characters, without giving anything away.

Here is more about the two new Abominable picture books from Simon & Schuster, which are available now in stores and through online retailers, including Amazon...

My girls really enjoyed these two new picture books. They especially liked how they got postcards and bookmarks with the "Yi 's Journey Home" book.  This book is just like the official trailer for the movie.  It introduces you to to Yi and how she comes across Everett, the yeti.  She decided to help him get home, and this book is all about their journey back to the Himalayan Mountains.  It has a great message about family and the true meaning of the "home", which kids will pick up on as you enjoy this book together.

While the "Meet Everest" paperback does not come with any special goodies like stickers or bookmarks, it will delight fans of this upcoming release, as it is all about Everest. My girls really enjoyed this book, which is all about the magical journey Yi and Everest embark on to get him home safely.

After reading these two books, my girls are more excited to see this upcoming animated release...and you know what?...I am, too!  This sure does look like a fun family-friendly movie that is filled with adventure and will pull at your heartstrings, while sharing messages of unlikely friendship, family and the true meaning of home.  We are so happy to have these cute paperback books to add to our book collection, and will be reading them more and more as we count down until the Sept. 27th theater release, and long after seeing it at the movies.

Here are two more Abominable books also available from Simon & Schuster, worth checking out in advance of the upcoming Sept. 27th DreamWorks Animation release of this cute family-friendly movie...
