Did you catch the advance screening of The Secret Life of Pets 2 yesterday?  Fandango was offering a chance for fans of the movie to see it before it arrives in theaters on June 7th.  Unfortunately, we had plans and couldn't make the screening.  But, this is one movie my girls have been dying to see since they saw the movie trailer at the beginning of the year.

Here is more about the movie, including the trailer, in case you haven't seen it yet...

About “The Secret Life of Pets 2”:

"Illumination’s tenth animated feature, “The Secret Life of Pets 2,” is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2016 comedic blockbuster that had the biggest opening weekend ever for an original film, animated or otherwise.

Packed with Illumination’s signature irreverence and subversive humor, this new chapter explores the emotional lives of our pets, the deep bond between them and the families that love them, and answers the question that has long intrigued every pet owner: What are your pets really doing when you’re not at home?

Terrier Max (Patton Oswalt) is coping with some major life changes. His owner (Ellie Kemper) is now married and has a toddler, Liam. Max is so worried about protecting the boy that he develops a nervous tic. On a family trip to a farm, Max and mutt Duke (Eric Stonestreet) encounter canine-intolerant cows, hostile foxes and a terrifying turkey, all of which only elevates Max’s anxiety. Luckily, Max gets some guidance from veteran farm dog Rooster (Harrison Ford, making his animated-film debut), who pushes Max to ditch his neuroses, find his inner alpha, and give Liam a little more freedom.

Meanwhile, while her owner is away, plucky Pomeranian Gidget (Jenny Slate) tries to rescue Max’s favorite toy from a cat-packed apartment with a little help from her feline friend, Chloe (Lake Bell), who has discovered the joys of catnip.

And crazy-but-cute bunny Snowball (Kevin Hart) gets delusions of grandeur that he’s an actual superhero after his owner Molly starts dressing him in superhero pajamas. But when Daisy (Tiffany Haddish), a fearless Shih Tzu, shows up to ask for Snowball’s help on a dangerous mission, he’ll have to summon the courage to become the hero he’s only been pretending to be.

Can Max, Snowball, Gidget and the rest of the gang find the inner courage to face their biggest fears?

The Secret Life of Pets 2 is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy, the visionary team behind Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch and the Despicable Me and Minions franchise, and is written by returning Pets screenwriter Brian Lynch. The film is directed by returning filmmaker Chris Renaud, who also directed Illumination’s Despicable Me series and Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. www.thesecretlifeofpets.com"

Doesn't this look like a cute movie?  I am not usually a fan of sequels, especially ones for animated movies, as I feel it is hard to top the first movie.  But, after seeing clips from the movie and the trailer, I, too, am excited to see it, and can't wait to see how it compares to the first one.  I have a few friends who took their kids yesterday to the screening, and they said it was super funny and even better than the first movie...so, this only makes me want to see it more, and wish that next week gets here, so that I can take the girls for a lunch date and then to see the movie.

As we wait for the movie to arrive in theaters, I did surprise the girls with a fun treat, that made them smile from ear to ear.  The folks at Radz recently released a 3-in-1 Candy + Surprise, where kids can not only enjoy tasty candy, but also get to collect 8 figures from the hit animated movie.  There is even a collector's card that is included with each box for kids to collect.

If you follow my blog, then you have probably read posts I have shared talking about Radz and their candy dispensers.  They release a lot of holiday and seasonal themed 3-in-1 candy dispensers, as well as foam dispensers depicting some of your child's favorite characters from hit shows and movies.  My daughter recently saw the new Radz Candy + Dispenser featuring the Paw Patrol characters.

She was quick to point them out at the store, and asked if we could get some, as she is still a huge Paw Patrol fan, and loves anything that you have to collect, especially if it is "dog" or animal related.  I told her next time, as I knew the folks at Radz were sending along a couple samples of their new Radz Paw Patrol line, with the new Radz 3-in-1 The Secret Life of Pets 2 Candy + Surprise toys.  While sad she wasn't able to get one of candy dispensers at that moment, I knew she would get excited when I surprised her and her sister with one, as well as the new The Secret Life of Pets Radz candy + Dispenser toys.

This past Friday my girls finished 4th grade homeschooling. In addition to a fun afternoon at the park and then ice cream, I also surprised my girls with the Radz candy + surprise treats that were recently sent our way.  They both had big smiles on their faces as I handed them the Radz boxes.  My oldest, was especially happy, as she has been talking non-stop about the Paw Patrol Radz candy dispensers and how she wanted to bring her allowance the next time we went to the store, so that she could buy one.

The girls could tell which Paw Patrol character they got as the package was see-through.

But, the Radz The Secret Life of Pets 2 collectible was in a box, so they had to open it to see what was inside.  I don't know about you, but both of my girls LOVE blind bags and surprise toys.  It is the craze for kids nowadays, and whenever we go to the store they always seem to have new blind bags and surprise toys available, or a new series out for the kids to collect more of.  Within a matter of seconds, both of my girls had ripped through the box to find their surprise figure, before pulling out the bag of candy, which were exclusive flavors just for the movie.  These were the fun, and oh so tasty flavors, that the girls got to snack on while playing with their new collectible figure from the upcoming animated movie:

  • Orange Pup-Sicle
  • Berry Bow-Wow
  • The Big Apple
  • Cherry Cattitude

My girls laughed when the read the names of the candies, but had a blast sampling each one, and then mixing them up to create fun new combination flavors.  Overall, my girls really enjoyed the two candy treats the folks at Radz sent our way.  The Secret Life of Pets 2 candy + dispenser just got my girls more excited about seeing the movie, and now they want to pick up more of these boxes in hopes of collecting all 8 figures.  And, as far as the Paw Patrol dispensers go...their Daddy took them to the store today and they combined their money to complete their sets.

In addition to the super cute candy dispenser pups whose tongue's stick out and dispense the candy (which are also exclusive flavors to the dispenser), they also come with a mini poster.

My girls now have the mini posters on their bedroom doors, and have the new Radz Paw Patrol candy dispensers lined on in a row on their bookcase to admire, or grab for a sweet treat.

I could go on and on about how much fun Radz candy dispensers and surprise toys are.  But, instead, why not check out their website to see all the different candy treats your child can collect.  Just be warned...there are 100's to collect, and many have interchanging tops.  But, that is what makes collecting Radz candy dispensers so much fun.  There are so many to choose from and collect, your kids will love collecting and trading them with siblings and friends, just like my girls do.  And, they sure do dress up a backpack with the clip on candy dispensers.  You can learn all about the Radz product offering by visiting www.RADZWORLD.COM.
