The Big C, the Complete Series is Now Available to Own on Blu-Ray from Mill Creek Entertainment (Review)

Disclosure: I was sent a screener from the vendor in exchange for an honest review.  All views shared are mine and mine alone.

(Also available on DVD)

I was looking for a new series to stream and watch, and a few friends recommended The Big C, which starred Laura Linney, and aired on Showtime between 2010-2013.  Even though my friends know I battled cancer back in 2008 and won :-) , they didn't hesitate to recommend this series, as they say it was well made, and was an engaging series right up until the last episode.

Being a big Laura Linney fan, I had heard about this television series years ago, but having missed previous seasons, was waiting until I could pick up the DVD that contained the whole series, or stream online.  Thanks to the folks at Mill Creek Entertainment, my wait is over as they recently released The Big C on Blu-Ray, as well as DVD, and they sent me a DVD screener to watch. For the past two weeks I have watched this series.  After the first episode, I could see why my friends were recommending it.  I found myself getting drawn into the story line, especially having battled cancer myself and having similar emotions as Linney's character.

The DVD of this complete series is 20 hours and 36 minutes.  I am only halfway through the series, but have loved every episode that I have watched so far.  I can't wait for more quiet time in the evenings after everyone is in bed, so that I can watch more of this series, and see what happens next.  If you were a fan of this Showtime series when it started airing back in 2010, or you are like me and wanted to watch it in its' entirety, then you will want to pick up The Big C, available now on either Blu-Ray or DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment.

More About this Showtime television series (2010-2013), which is now available to own on Blu-Ray and DVD from Mill Creek Entertainment:

"Laura Linney stars in her Golden Globe®-winning role as Cathy Jamison, a 42-year-old schoolteacher who has always played by the rules. That is, until she receives a life-changing diagnosis. But instead of giving up, Cathy decides to live it up! Nothing and no one is safe, including her self-absorbed family, her cantankerous neighbor, and her smart-ass students. Brutally honest, unapologetically funny and perfectly profound, The Big C is a surprisingly different comedy that reminds us that life is always worth living on our own terms."
"Linney is a coolly intelligent actress with a leveling gaze and a beautifully controlled voice that can coddle or crush.”
