We are now in the second month of 2019...how are your new year's resolutions going?  Hopefully you are still going strong and that you are feeling accomplished with some of the goals you set for yourself in 2019.  This year, in addition to the few resolutions I have made and are still working to achieve, I have been trying to find time each day to journal or just free write.  Even though I blog on a daily basis, and find it a great personal outlet and way to relax, I found myself over the years getting caught up in the craziness of life that I stopped writing just for me.  Back in the day, I used to love to write poetry.  Now, the only thing I seem to be writing is to-do lists to remind me what has to get done.  While many people write these lists to get the satisfaction of crossing completed tasks off, I find myself needing these lists as I have so much stuff going on with blogging, the girls' extracurricular activities, homeschooling stuff, appts, etc. that if I don't write it down, I will forget it.

But, this year, I have been working hard to use some of the limited "me time" I get, usually at the end of the day, to just sit and write.  It doesn't matter what comes out, but I make a point to write out whatever comes to my mind.  I write memories, add to my bucket list, start on poems, write down ideas for poems, or even ideas for blog features.  There is something gratifying about seeing a page of your own written notes or scribbles.  We are living in an age where we don't grab a pen and paper to write out stuff,  unless it is a to-do list, and now that is going electronic like so many other things including calendar management and even messaging.  We longer pick up a phone to check in on family or friends, and long gone are the days of writing a note to just say, "Hi."  Oh, how I miss the days of going to the mailbox to find a handwritten card or letter. Now, it is just bills, bills, bills, mixed in junk mail. Ugh.

Having a goal to write more for me this year, I myself without a good notebook our journal to do so.  And, before I could go to the store to look for one to buy, I was contacted by the folks at Moonster, and asked if I wanted to check out and review their new leather journal with a heart embossing .  Crazy how things like this happen in our life -- we think about something and then get a message or have someone reach out about it.  I jumped at the opportunity to review this journal, which you can purchase directly through Amazon for only $34.95.

The leather journal comes in a nice box, making it a great Valentine's Day gift that you can give without fussing over wrapping.

It is 8"x 6" and has a lovely heart embossed on the cover, and closes using a leather strap you wrap around the journal when not in use.  It is the perfect size for travel or writing on the go, and then stuffing in your handbag or backpack.  I put mine in the top drawer of my end table next to my bed, and love pulling out the drawer and seeing this Beautiful Handmade Leather Bound Notebook each night.

Features:

  • "This vintage handcrafted journal is made from 100% soft, hard wearing water buffalo leather. Oozing rustic charm, as well as that gorgeous leather smell, the antique looking style gives it an old-world feel to help inspire your writing

This genuine leather journal would also make for a great gift ideas for those who love to doodle or draw, including tweens and teens. And, when you take the journal out of the box for the first time, you can't help but smile as you smell the leather.  I don't know about you, but there is something about the smell of a new book or genuine leather that brings a calming feeling over me.  It is one that you don't expect, but when it happens, you can't help but smile.

I am loving my new Moonster genuine leather journal, and find myself looking forward to going to bed each night, as this is when I usually pull out the journal to write in.

I really like the acid-free cotton paper, as it reminds me of the good 'ole days, and simpler times.  I could go on and on about how great this journal is, and how it would make the perfect gift for Valentine's Day, birthdays, graduations, or just thinking of you.

But, why not pick up one for yourself, or to give, and you will see why I, and so many others who own this Moonster genuine leather journal love it so much!
