Did you grow in the 80's? If you did, like me, then you probably played your fair share of Atari and Activision video games.  And, when you weren't at home playing video games, you were at a nearby arcade playing your favorite pinball and arcade games with friends.  I remember saving all my quarters just so that when my mom would go to the mall, I could spend the afternoon with my brothers and friends at the arcade inside (yes, they had arcades in malls back in the day).  Ahh, the good 'old days.

We couldn't get enough of our Atari games, even if we had to sit close to the television as the controllers were connected to the gaming system plugged into the back of the television, we didn't mind.  Pac Man, Pitfall and Dig Dug were my games of choice.  What were yours?

If you loved the following games, then you would love the new Bandai Namco Flashback Blast! from AtGames, which is available now for only $19.99, and includes all these retro games we all grew up loving to play:

  1. Dig Dug
  2. Galaga
  3. Galaxian
  4. Mappy
  5. Pac-Man
  6. Sky-Kid
  7. The Tower of Druaga
  8. Xevious
Here is more about the cool new line of Blast! gaming systems that would make great last minute gift ideas for video gaming fans, and kids of 80's, looking to relive some of their favorite childhood gaming memories...

My girls were introduced to Pac-Man a few years ago when we took them to Weirs Beach, NH and made a stop in at FunSpot, a huge indoor arcade center.   While they wanted to play all the new video games and prize ticket winning machines, we made them go old school and brought them to the second floor which was filled with arcade and pinball machines from my childhood that still took quarters.  Just like my parents used to do with my brothers and I when we were in NH for vacation as kids, I gave my girls each a roll of quarters, and step stool to reach the controllers, and set them loose. I wish you could have seen the looks on their faces when they saw the old school graphics of the video games.  But, then when they started to play them, they were looked, like we were as kids.  My oldest couldn't stop playing Q-Bert, while my younger daughter was all about Ms. Pac-Man and the Pac-Man games.

Since then, I have picked up little hand held devices loaded with these games, but they were not like the gaming systems we had as kids.  So, when I heard at AtGames was releasing this new line of Plug & Play Retro games, complete with controllers just like back in the day, I jumped at the opportunity to review one.  Yesterday, we received the Bandai Namco Flashback Blast! and the girls were all smiles as they saw Pac-Man on it.  Within a matter of minutes I had this plugged into the back to the television and explained how to use the controllers with the girls.  Then, they were off and running having a blast playing the 8 blast from the past games pre-loaded on the AtGames product.

Last night after dinner, the whole family gathered around the television in the living room and challenged each other to the games.  I will definitely be buying a second controller (which is available for purchase separately), so that we can play two-player mode. If you loved Pac-Man and other video games from the 80's, then you will definitely want to check out the new Plug & Plug Blast! products from AtGames.  They would make for great stocking stuffer or swap gifts, too!
