If you love watching Masterpiece on PBS, then you have probably watched an episode or more of The Durrells in Corfu, which is a series that follows the lives of the Durrell family, who have moved to the Greek island of Corfu. It is an adaption based on Gerald Durrell's "My Family and Other Animals", and one series not to be missed.
I first stumbled across this show after watching Downton Abbey and needing something else to watch. My parents are all about PBS and Masterpiece series, and told me about this show. And, based on their description it sounded like something I would like. So, I checked a few of the first season episodes, and was hooked. Now, I am playing catch up and watching past episodes streaming online, as well as watching season 3, which will be available to own on DVD on October 16th, or you can start streaming the episodes beginning today on digital.

Margo has (temporarily) given up on love and found a new vocation, while Gerry’s obsession with animals continues to grow. As for Louisa, a trip to the UK with Larry to sort out family affairs reminds her of the restrictions of her old life. After a brush with bohemian London artists, she realizes her heart belongs to her island paradise.
New episodes of “MASTERPIECE: THE DURRELLS IN CORFU SEASON 3” will be available the day after broadcast beginning October 1, 2018 and the full season will be available on DVD ($39.99 SRP) on October 16, 2018. The run time of the program is approximately 384 minutes with eight episodes.
Based on the memoirs of Gerald Durrell, the animal-loving youngest member of the clan, the series stars Keeley Hawes as the plucky widowed mother, Louisa Durrell; Josh O'Connor as her eldest son, Lawrence, who is destined to become a famous novelist; Callum Woodhouse as the hapless sportsman, Leslie; Daisy Waterstone as the lovelorn teen, Margo; and Milo Parker as Gerald. The bohemian Durrells fit right in with the light-hearted Greeks — except when they disastrously don’t.
