I was a huge Cat in he Hat fan growing up, and still watching it to this day. So, when my girls started to take interest in television when they were little and stumbled upon this show, I was so happy, when I saw them falling in the love with the show and characters, like I did when I was there age. In addition to being a great educational series for the girls to watch, an added bonus of the sitting to watch this popular PBS Kids animated series is that I got to enjoy the episodes to. :-)
Recently we were sent the The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That: Season 2 Volume 2 DVD, which arrived on DVD back on Sept. 11th Even though we have already seen the 20 full-length episodes that make up this new release, the girls couldn't wait to watch them again. And, like I mentioned in previous posts, we are currently studying space this month for homeschool, so the episode about learning about space and the planets was perfect for what we were studying.
In addition to the episode that introduces children to the planets in our solar system, they will also enjoy episodes covering the following topics:
- Digestion -- why do our stomachs make rumbly noises
- How do animals walk with more than two legs
- Marvelous Marbles
- The Skin I am IN
- Jiggle Bones
- a Polar Adventure
- How paper is made
...and so much more!
We will be studying the human body in the coming months and I will definitely be utilizing the episodes on this DVD that teach children about the human skeleton. These episodes will make for a fun way to answer some of the questions the girls have about the human body, by joining Sally and Nick as they go on a fun adventures with the Cat in the Hat.
