Both of my girls LOVE LEGO. They love it so much that instead of a birthday party this year for Bella's birthday she asked if we would take her to LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Somerville, MA. We had never been there, but friends and family have gone and said it was so much fun. And, it was...LEGO fanatics would be in heaven if they went here -- LEGOS everywhere and all different stations and rooms featuring popular LEGO characters and movies. Thanks to the LEGO Ninjago movie, my girls really got into LEGO building and spent time practically every day dumping their LEGO bins out on the floor and building something. Bella is mastered her house building skills, while Savannah loves to build cars or follow directions and make LEGO building kit. Bella is more free spirited and likes to go with the flow and see what she comes up.
Seeing how much the girls are into LEGO building, I thought it would be fun to surprise them with a LEGO alarm clock and watch that I saw over at ClicTime. They are learning how to tell time in homeschool, and I thought this would be a great way to practice further, while also feeling more grown up with their very own clock and watch they can set and look at when they want to know the time.
Bella is into superheroes, especially the DC Supergirls, so I knew she would like the LEGO Batman Movie Batgirl Minifigure Clock based on the character from The Batman Movie.
Now only does this clock sound when the alarm goes, but if you push on Batgirl's head , the time area illuminates for easy reading in the dark, as well as activates the snooze feature in the AM.
Bella was so excited when I showed her her new alarm clock. She couldn't wait for me to set and wished it was bedtime just so she could go to bed and play with it and then have the alarm go off in the morning. I loved seeing her get so excited about this big girl clock.
She went as far as to clear off her dresser just so she could display her clock (which you can move the legs too) and then line up her recent LEGO builds. It was like LEGO shrine, that she said we could look at, but not touch. :-)

I love seeing her being able to tell time with this analogue watch as we have spent a great deal of time in our schooling learning how to tell time. Savannah says she feels more like a big girl now that she has a watch, and loves showing it off to family and friends.
