Get off the couch and get dancing to the 40+ songs available on the new Just Dance 2018 game from Ubisoft.  I have been a fan of the Just Dance games for years, and always look forward to new releases around the holidays.  So, I was excited when I was recently sent the Just Dance 2018 for our XBox One to try out.  Not only was I looking to challenge my husband to a dance off, but I had heard from a previous press release that this new game would have a kid feature so that young children could join in on the fun.

As you know I have two young daughters, who love to dance and sing. So, I knew that they would love to have a fun Just Dance family night showing off their moves and seeing who would be crowned dance champion in our house.   Even though my girls have been sick, they seemed to muster up enough energy last night to get their dancing shoes on...well not exactly...like they say, "Barefoot or socks is better." :-)  Then, they took to the dance floor (AKA the living room carpet) and got their groove on.  I will say that they get their rhythm from my husband's Latin side.  I will admit I was born with two left feet, but love dancing every chance I get.  Not only is fun to move about to your favorite song, but it is also good exercise.  And, when you play Just Dance 2018 you are in for a great workout.  I found myself sweating after the first song.  The girls, on the other hand, were just warming up, and could have danced all night if we let them.

The girls really got into the game and I loved the Kid Mode, as we have tried playing the previous Just Dance games with the girls, but they were too hard for them to keep up. With this new Kid Mode, the girls are able to compete against each other to the same songs, at a slower pace and easier choreographies for them to follow along.  I have to say that my girls put me to shame playing this game.  But, the living room was filled with laughs, as we had so much fun dancing and singing along to all the top hits this game featured.  My personal favorite was Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's summer hit Despacito.

You can say that this was my groove song, and I left it all out on the dance floor when I danced this song against my husband.  Being Latin and having better rhythm than me, he won naturally.  But, the girls gave me an A+ for effort.  Bella did follow up with, "Please only dance in the house where our friends can't see you."  I guess I will not be trying out for any dancing show in the future. :-)  Instead, I will be working on my choreography moves when I challenge my family to the new Just Dance 2018 game.

If you are a fan of the Just Dance games from Ubisoft, or you know someone who is or loves dance off games, then you will want to pick up the new Just Dance 2018 available now in stores and through online retailers, for the following gaming platforms:  PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Wii.

Here is more information about this new game release, including information about the Nintendo Switch platform features and the new Kid mode I mentioned above...

"It's time to show off your best moves! Just Dance 2018 is now available on all current platforms, with the Nintendo Switch version of the game giving players the ability to party anywhere, anytime.

Just Dance 2018 features over 40 new songs on its tracklist with songs from Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee, Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé, Bruno Mars and other chart-topping artists.
But it doesn't end there. Over 300 more Just Dance tracks are available via a three-month trial of the on-demand Just Dance Unlimited streaming service included in every copy. And coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch version of the game is the Mario dance and new two-handed choreographies developed around the Joy-Con's unique HD Rumble technology.
The Nintendo Switch version of Just Dance 2018 supports up to six players at the same time using Joy-Con controller, or players can use the free Just Dance Controller App that turns your phone into a controller. You can also use your phone with the Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 versions of Just Dance 2018. A new Kids section with eight new choreographies makes it even easier for younger players to participate, too.
Introducing the new Kids Mode...
Just Dance 2018 is introducing a new Kids Mode to the ever-growing Just Dance universe, aimed at improving the Just Dance experience for younger children. Appearing in the Nintendo Switch, Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4 versions of the game, Kids Mode will feature eight songs adapted for kids between three and six years old that feature easier choreographies developed in collaboration with child development experts.
With a focus on colorful settings, kid-friendly characters, and visuals that tell a story, Kids Mode also offers more positive feedback, with easy scoring and increased rewards to keep kids from getting discouraged. Kids can also keep playing continuously, thanks to an optional random-play mode that parents can turn on or off. Additionally, the Just Dance 2018 Kids Mode interface is tailored for children, with less text than other modes, making the game easier for them to navigate."
