A couple days ago I shared that Cars 3 was arriving Digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™ on October 24th. The following day, I received a digital code to download this movie and watch with my girls.  This movie couldn't have come at a better time as the girls and I have been sick and have been running out of things to watch on television.  We missed Cars 3 when it was in theaters as one of the girls were sick.  But, we had it noted on the calendar on November 7th to pick up this DVD when it arrived in stores.  So, it was a nice surprise to be able to see it before it arrives on DVD, and it really helped cheer up the girls, who are both huge Lightning McQueen fans.

We watched this movie yesterday and the girls were all smiles throughout the film.  They liked the introduction of Cruz Ramirez, but felt bad that Lightning Machine was moving aside for the younger, faster cars to take out the track.  But, as they watched the movie, they saw that Lightning McQueen wasn't going anywhere.  Instead, he was stepping into the role of coach like his predecessor the Hudson Hornet to train Cruz Ramirez for the biggest race of her life.  It was nice to see the story of come full circle so to speak from the previous two Cars movies.  We were first introduced to #95 as a cocky race car driver who could beat anyone. But, then he realized he needed training and got it from an unlikely person, who ended up becoming not only a mentor but a dear friend of his along the way.  And, now in Cars 3, #95 is passing on his knowledge to another spunky car, who acts just like he did back in the day.

This really is a cute movie, and my favorite of the three Cars movies.  My girls agreed that it was really good, and can't wait to watch it again tomorrow night as part of our family movie nights.

Here is more about the 3rd installment in the Cars franchise movie from Disney Pixar, in case you weren't aware of it...

"After years at the top of the racing game, Lightning McQueen is determined to show the younger, faster cars like rookie Jackson Storm that he still belongs on the track. After he is pushed out of the scene by faster cars, Lightning teams up with a clever young race technician with Piston Cup dreams. Using inspiration from the legendary Hudson Hornet, Lightning works harder than ever to prove that he still has what it takes!"

In addition to being sent the digital code to view this movie with my family, I was also sent the link to a deleted scene from the movie, which you can see below, as well as see along with some other amazing behind the scenes footage when you purchase the digital (available now) or upcoming Blu-ray or DVD release.

After we watched the movie, my youngest daughter, Bella, sat with me to watch the deleted scenes, including the Boogie Woogie scene.  She really liked seeing the drawing board version of the scene, as it showed her how much time and detailing went into turning the drawings into the animated film.  Bella loves to draw and wants to hopefully work on animated films when she grows up.  But, in the meantime, she is enjoying honing her craft by drawing the likes of Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez (which she says was named after her (as Ramirez is her last name, too!) :-)

I could go on and on about how great the movie or the bonus features are, but you have probably already seen this movie in theaters, or had plans to pick up and share with your family and add to your growing Cars DVD collection.  But, I did want to share something fun just in time for Halloween.  If you haven't carved your pumpkins yet and are looking for a fun stencil or two, you will want to check out the Cars 3 Halloween Fun Kit below.  Not only will you find fun activity sheets including mazes and games to print out for your kids, but this kit also includes pumpkin stencils featuring Mater and Lightning McQueen.  My girls are already asking me to pick up more pumpkins so we can try our hand at the two stencils and display them on Halloween.

If you have a Cars 3 fan in your house, this is definitely one fun activity kit to print out and share with them this Halloween...and, best of all it is FREE to download and print out, so share away with family and friends so they can enjoy, too. :-)
