What a wonderful weekend we had. For the first time in over a month the girls and I are finally feeling better, knock on wood.  We took full advantage of feeling good to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather...who knew we would be seeing temps in the upper 50's, low 60's this time of year.  In addition to getting outside, the girls were also surprised with a visit by Nana and Papa who came down to do a little baking and crafts with them.  It couldn't have gotten any better...well, that it what I thought until the girls got an unexpected video call from Santa over the computer.

A couple of weeks ago the girls and I tried to chat with Santa via the Talk to Santa website.  Due to technical issues, we could hear and see Santa, but he could only see us (and not hear us).  After leaving feedback with the company, they reached out to set up another video call so that the girls could get the whole experience with Santa.  If I didn't get a reminder email to book my video call, I would have totally forgot about making the make up call, due to all the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

I wanted to surprise the girls, so I didn't tell them that they would be talking to Santa.  Instead, I said they would be chatting with their cousin, with my parents in the background.  I wish you could have seen their faces when Santa appeared and heard them.  They were quick to get my parents over by their sides, and for the next 10 minutes had a wonderful chat with Santa.

Thanks to a brief form I filled out prior to the call, I filled Santa in on the girls -- from their ages, likes, teacher's and friends' names, to things they are working on or behaviors we hope they improve on.  I even made note of the two elves we have visiting us, which really made for nice surprise when the girls heard Santa talking about Christopher and Christina and all the reporting they have been doing.  Bella's jaw dropped as she listened without speaking as Santa talked about their elves.  And, when Santa asked the girls to listen to their parents and to try hard to get along and share, they both nodded their heads and promised Santa to try their hardest to be good the remainder of this year and next year.

For only $24.95 your kids (up to 6 children), and even relatives from all over (up to 4 locations), can video conference in with Santa and talk for 8-10 minutes.  Prior to the chat, parents go online to reserve a phone call time, answer questions about each child to make the call more personal, and select the video conference package that they want.  Then, you just sit by the computer with your kids and wait for Santa to video conference in.

If you have true believers of the holiday, or even an older child who is on the fence about Santa, why not set up a video call with Santa from Talk to Santa, to make for a truly memorable holiday experience.  We had our first video call with Santa last year when I found out about Talk to Santa, and plan to make a point each and every year going forward to chat with Santa, as part of our annual holiday traditions.
