"The most adorable rabble-rousers in film history return in The Little Rascals Save the Day, a fun-filled, all-new adventure featuring Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla, Petey the Dog and all their friends. Directed by Alex Zamm (Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2), The Little Rascals Save the Day arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack including Blu-ray, DVD, & DIGITAL HD with UltraViolet on April 1, 2014, from Universal Studios Home Entertainment. The film will also be available on DIGITAL HD two weeks early on March 18, 2014.

In the spirit of the treasured Our Gang comedies, The Little Rascals Save the Day finds the most entertaining bunch of third graders in town hatching a series of madcap schemes to earn enough money to keep Grandma's (Doris Roberts of "Everybody Loves Raymond") bakery out of the clutches of conniving businessman Big Ray (Greg Germann of Here Comes the Boom). From caddying to pet care to taxi service, each of their plans goes hilariously awry until they are left with just two options: find a way to win the local talent show or wave goodbye to the best cupcakes a kid ever tasted!

Eden Wood of the hit reality series "Toddlers and Tiaras" makes her feature film debut as pint-sized coquette, Darla, along with the fresh young faces of Camden Gray, Chase Vacnin, Connor Berry, Drew Justice, Grant Palmer II, YouTube sensation Isaiah "Zay-Zay" Fredericks, Jet Jurgensmeyer, Jenna Ortega and Rio Mangini in the iconic Rascals family-friendly original comedy.  Adult actors Valerie Azlynn ("Sullivan and Son") and Lex Medlin ("Drop Dead Diva") complete the cast."

My Thoughts:
Were you a fan of the Little Rascals growing up?  I used to watch old black and white talkies of Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla and the gang thanks to my parents, who were fans growing up of the original Little Rascals gang.  But, like any popular series/show, over the years either the original content is remastered or they revamp it by putting a new spin on the story lines or casting new actors to play our beloved favorite characters.  So, I was not surprised to see this show modernized, in hopes of captivating the new generations.

The other day when my parents were here, we all sat down to watch this recent Blu-ray and DVD release.  While my parents thought it was a cute movie, they were still fans of the older talkies they grew up.  But, they did agree that they loved seeing it in color and that the actors portraying Spanky, Alfalfa, Buckwheat, Darla and the others did a great job.  My girls couldn't stop chuckling at the humorous scenes throughout the movie.

And, like the old gang, the newer Rascals are back at in getting into trouble and filled with spunk.  At only 98 minutes in length, this is a great PG family movie to share with the entire family.  You will all enjoy watching as the gang rallies together to help save Grandma's bakery, which is also the location of their tree house.  Unfortunately their scheming ways go wrong and they watch as their hopes to raise $10,000 to save the bakery are slipping away.

While most kids are excited about summer starting and not worrying about things like raising funds to save a bakery, leave it to the Little Rascals to keep you glued to the television as you hope they are able to save the day.  Through in a dance competition and viewers are in for a treats at the kids will stop at nothing to save their beloved tree house and Grandma's bakery from their archenemy, Waldo.

You will laugh and smile as you watch this new batch of actors take on the roles of our favorite Rascals.  I especially loved Spanky in this movie, as he was full of energy and mischief, which you expect from a Little Rascal. :-)

So, do the Little Rascals save they day?  You will have to pick up a copy of this new release to find our for yourself.  Just know you will be in for a good time when you sit down with the family to watch this movie.  This is one movie we will be watching over and over again.
