Upon
opening the box, I was surprised to find the dainty rose patterned tea
cup and saucer, with a 100% soy candle scented like rose petals inside a
pretty mini gift box. The gift box reminded me of the hat boxes my
grandmother used to have and stack in the corner of her bedroom, next to
her dresser. She would fill these hat boxes with letters and postcards
from family and friends, scraps of fabric she collected and would use to
make quilts and other personalized gifts with, as well as small
trinkets and mementos she would pick up during her travels or out and
about.
Then, inside a white jewelry box was the strand of faux pearls. If I didn't know they were faux pearls, I would have thought they were real, as they were of such high quality. My youngest daughter, Bella, the girly girl of my two girls, saw the necklace and asked for it. And, for the remainder of the day, she wore the pearls as if they were real and she was a pretty princess.
We had to fight with
her at bedtime to take them off, so they wouldn't break. She finally
gave in and placed the strand of pearls on her end table, so that they
