Celebrate Earth Day in Exciting Fashion with Ms. Frizzle and Class in the All-New DVD THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS: ALL ABOUT EARTH! (Review and #Giveaway)

"For more than 40 years, we've gathered together on April 22 to celebrate the planet with Earth Day. This year, over 1 billion people will participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest civic observance in the world. As we get ready for this years' celebration, Scholastic invites families to get inside the earth like never before with
THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS: ALL ABOUT EARTH. Featuring three all-new, never-before-released episodes of the long-running Emmy® Award-winning science adventure series, the DVD also offers English and Spanish language options and includes the bonus episode "The Magic School Bus All Dried Up".

Grab a seat on the bus and hang on for the three episodes, including "The Magic School Bus Goes to Seed", where the class' garden is going to be featured on the cover of Plant It! Magazine, but Phoebe's garden plot is glaringly empty; "The Magic School Bus Blows its Top", which explains volcanoes and shows Ms. Frizzles class how the earth makes islands and "The Magic School Bus Goes on Air", which covers the mysteries and miracles of air pressure."

My Thoughts:

Even though my girls are too young to truly appreciate the popular The Magic School Bus series, they still enjoy watching the new DVD releases with my nieces and nephews who can't get enough of Ms. Frizzle and her class.  I have a box full of VHS tapes of The Magic School Bus episodes that the kids have watched over and over again, over the years.  The premise of the series is simple.  Ms. Frizzle takes her class on fun adventures by riding a magic school bus.  The students learn about science, including nature and the human body, in a fun way.  I wish my field trips were like this growing up! :-)

And, with Earth Day right around the corner, this new DVD release from Scholastic and New Kideo would be great to share if you home school, to send with your child to school for their teacher to share with the class, or to watch at home during family movie night.  I ended up watching this new DVD release, which contains 3 episodes, this past Monday with my nieces and nephews.  While my nephew loved the volcano episode, everyone seemed to love "The Magic School Bus Goes to Seed," which dealt with finding just the right plant for the school garden.  While exploring gardens and learning about different plants, the students got an inside view of how plants grow, starting from a single seed.  My family found this fascinating, and learned so much.  I surprised them by having them each create mini gardens with the leftover empty egg cartons and wildflower plant seed packs I had recently picked up.

Are you looking for a great educational DVD that is perfect for Earth Day, or your family is a fan of The Magic School Bus series?  Then, you will want to check out this new release from Scholastic.  It will surely delight, while educating young children (as well as tweens/teens who have been fans of this series for years). :-)
