Easter Gift Ideas -- Roma Downey's Little Angels Prayers for Every Day - Review and #Giveaway

About the Book

"Little Angels Prayers for Every Day features more than 50 simple rhyming prayers that cover a typical day and the typical worries of a young child. From waking in the morning to going to sleep at night, from thanking God for a meal to praying for His comfort when afraid, the prayers here will help little ones to see that any moment is a good moment to talk to God. Relevant Bible verses are scattered throughout the book as well!
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) has given their seal of approval and I do too! The faith-based series focuses on eight Little Angels who are guardians, teachers, and companions to twins Alex and Zoe. Throughout each book, children will learn practical lessons, values, and Biblical truths in an engaging and appealing manner.

This book is the perfect way to teach children about prayer and the ways God cares for us each day!"

My Thoughts:
Even though Savannah is still too young to read, we still make a point to try to teach core family values and share faith-based books and movies with her.  And, each night, she kneels down in front of her bed, as we pray as a family.  But, I have been searching for age appropriate books that I could share at bedtime that would help me in talking to Savannah about all the ways God cares for us, and why we thank Him every night with our prayer.
Since Roma Downey introduced her Littlest Angels series, I have been reviewing and collecting her DVDs to share with the girls, and they have become one of Savannah's favorite faith-based educational ls.  So, when I heard that Roma Downey was adding a prayer book to her popular series, I just had to check it out.  And, this afternoon, I received a review copy to share with my daughters.  I took advantage of them both napping to read this upcoming release (arrives in stores on 3/1) cover to cover, and fell in love with the more than fifty rhyming prayers that cover day-to-day worries a young child may experience.  This new release is a board book, which is great for my little ones, as I don't have to worry about them ripping the pages, or Arabella causing damage from stepping on or trying to chew on the book, now that she is teething again and putting everything in sight into her mouth.

I have always loved the illustrations and animated Littlest Angels characters, and this prayer book follows suit with twins, Alex and Zoe, the Little Angels and the adults in their lives, as they give thanks and pray to God for all that he does to care for us each day.  The prayers are short and sweet, and with the rhyming feel, make it fun for young children to want to learn and recite.  Parents can choice to read this prayer book as a story, and discuss each prayer, which is broken down into categories likes: prayers for bedtime, prayers for others, prayers for thanks and prayers for forgiveness.  Or, they can choose to cover a particular section each day/week, and help teach the children these prayers to incorporate in their bedtime or mealtime prayers.

However you choose to use this book with your little ones,it will definitely be a great addition to their library, and a great way to teach them about prayer, relevant Bible verses (which are scattered throughout this board book) and to let them know that God is always there and is listening. And, with Easter right around the corner, this would make a great gift to share in your child's Easter basket. :-)

  1. a few years ago we received a prize package from you that included our first taste of Veggie Tales. Since then, my family has been hooked. It was such a simple way to introduce prayers & God into the lives of our children, and we cannot thank you enough!
