What's For Dinner Tonight? Why Not Serve up Ellio's Pizza? (Review)

I remember growing up and coming home from school after school wanting more than just a snack to help tide me over until dinner.  My mom always kept Ellio's frozen pizza in our freezer, so I knew what to grab when the hunger pains set in.  And, you didn't have to be a chef to prepare these tasty and oh so cheesy pizza's.  All you had to do was place in the oven or toaster oven (my preferred method) and heat up.  I would love watching the cheese bubble up through the little glass window of the toaster.  And, in under 20 minutes (giving ample time for the cheese to cool), I had 1 long rectangular slice of pizza, or 3 mini slices -- whichever way you looked at it. :-)  I could never eat just one slice of this pizza, as it was so good.  Not only was there enough cheese to make it ooey gooey, but the crust when cooked directly on the rack was nice and crispy, so you heard a crackling noise each time you took a bite.

Flash forward 20+ years and I am still loving my Ellio's pizza from McCain Foods.  Instead of turning to this popular frozen pizza as an after school snack, I am preparing for myself for lunch, and even serving up at dinner time when I am pressed for time and want to serve a tasty meal to my family.  I love how Ellio's uses 100% real cheese and vine ripened tomatoes for their sauces, along with freshly rolled crusts for their pizzas.  Unlike other frozen pizzas we have tried in the past, this pizza tastes so good and has become my family's favorite.

Savannah loves it when I cook up a variety of their pizza flavors and cut them up into bite size pieces for her.  Like me, she loves the Italian sausage and pepperoni pizza one the best. :-) My husband on the other hand, likes the supreme pizza with the works.  Ellio's is available in cheese, extra cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage and pepperoni and supreme flavors -- which is great when you want to satisfy everyone's favorite pizza toppings.  My brothers used to add diced chicken and other toppings to their plain Ellio's pizza when I was a kid.  I remember trying my first slice of buffalo chicken pizza and loving it back then.  And, whenever we would have family pizza night or I would have slumber parties, I would always ask for Ellio's.

Now that school is back in session, why not pick up a box or two to have on hand for when you kids come home and ask for "more than just a snack" before dinner.  Or, if you are busy chauffeuring to practices, and then find yourself wondering what you will prepare for dinner, let Ellio's Pizza take the guesswork out of dinner.  Simply pop their pizza slices into the oven and serve.  I don't know about you, but I prefer this pizza over local pizza take out any day.
