My Thoughts:

I don't know how my daughters do it.  We have had a nasty head cold going through the house for over a week now.  But, when I received Barbie clothing in the mail the other day, they mustered up enough energy to want to try on the clothes and model them off.

What little doesn't like ruffles and glitter?  I know my two girls love clothes with these and other flashy embellishments.  As soon as I took the two outfits out of the cute storage box, which mimics Barbie's closet, and has since been turned into a doll house for Savannah's mini figures, both Savannah and Arabella hurried over to check out the outfits.  As a parent, I loved how the pieces from this upcoming Fall line could be mismatched and still go together.  This is great because Savannah has already begun picking out her outfits for the day and trying to dress herself.  She can get her pants and shoes on, but still needs assistance getting her shirts on.

The only thing that I was a little disappointed with was that the sizes in this collection ran small.  I was sent one outfit that was a 2T and another that was 3T, but found them fitting Arabella who is 9 months and in 12-18 months clothes.  The shirt was a little snug on her.  And, when I dressed Savannah in both outfits, she couldn't get her arms into the 2T, and the 3T was a little snug.  So, knowing this, when I pick up more outfits from the Barbie clothing line at my nearest Kmart for the upcoming holidays, I will buy a size up for each of them.

But, I can't stop raving about the detail of the outfits and how the girls couldn't stop playing with the ruffles and lace, and rubbing the glittery tops.  I have washed both outfits a handful of times and they still look brand new.  The glitter has stayed intact, as has the lace and other girly embellishments.

Here are some of the photos I took of the girls trying out their new outfits.

I also took a video of Savannah showing off her Barbie outfit.  She chose the music and then began to dance and spin around the living room.  Even though she is not walking the catwalk, she sure is cutting up a rug. :-)

You don't have to be a Barbie fan to love this new clothing line for girls.  I say this as Savannah doesn't have any Barbies yet.  But, she loved the look and feel of the clothes and couldn't stop showing off her outfit in public.  When I ask her each morning what she wants to wear, she will grab both the top and skirt, or just the skirt and pairs it with another one of her favorite shirts.  I love how she is starting to get her own unique style, thanks in part to the new clothing line from Barbie, and available soon at KMart.

Oh, and in addition to the two outfits, I was also sent a digital camera to help capture our fashion show and girls modeling the clothes.  Savannah took to the camera and began playing photographer.  I don't know what it is about buttons, but she can't get enough of them.  Here she is asking her little sister to smile for a photo:

Make sure you keep an eye out this Fall when the Barbie branded clothing collection becomes available at KMart stores nationwide, so that you and your daughter(s) can have a fun afternoon bonding while putting on your own in-house fashion show.  And, if you do get a chance to pick up an outfit or two, head back here and let me know what you and your daughter thought of them.  I'd love to see photos. :-)
