I was sent a copy of this movie, and watched it yesterday. Even though my daughters are too young for this, I ended up watching it with my 12 year old niece, Kayla. She missed this feature film when it aired on the Disney Channel back in . But, many of her friends have been talking about, so she was eager to see it. As we sat down to watch it, I wasn't sure what we would be in store for, as I didn't find many reviews on the film prior to watching. Within the first 10 minutes, we were both hooked, and tapping our feet the music. The movie moved along in a steady pace, and didn't bore either of us along the way. When the movie ended, my niece turned to me and asked me what I thought. I told her it was surprisingly good. She thought it was amazing and couldn't wait to watch it again. I surprised her by letting her keep my review copy to share with her friends at an upcoming sleepover she is having this weekend.
Before she went home, we watched the bonus material included on the DVD. We both got up and danced around the living room to the music video, "We Got the Beat." Even Savannah came in and began to dance around with us. Young tweens/teens will love this movie not only for the fashion and music, but for the story line. Who wouldn't want to be a popular radio DJ, while being a junior in high school? Tara Adams is able to leave behind her safe and ordinary life, when she turns into a radio dj. It is like she is living two different worlds. But, will her two worlds collide? Or, will she get tired of juggling both? You will have to pick up a copy of this DVD to see for yourself! :-)
