Homeowners now have a new way to circulate stagnant indoor air while helping to eliminate odors. The new Honeywell with Febreze Freshness™ Cool & Refresh Fan combines two devices into one for home climate and aroma control. The fan provides both effective cooling and quiet operation, and uses Febreze® Set&Refresh® scent cartridges for whole room freshening.

"When you walk into a home, one of the first things that hits you is the smell, which can be a deal breaker if it's a housewarming party or open house. It's no wonder that Americans spend about $8 billion each year on home fragrances," said home expert and ABC's The Chew correspondent Evette Rios. "A recent national survey by Kaz Inc., the makers of Honeywell Fans, found that over two-thirds of Americans use fans and air fresheners to freshen the air in their home. The new Honeywell with Febreze Freshness fan gives the best of both worlds – continual odor elimination and air circulation."
The Honeywell with Febreze Cool and Refresh Fan cools, eliminates odors and freshens for whole room comfort. Its strong fan airflow combines with scent from a Febreze Set and Refresh scent cartridge to help eliminate odors and distribute freshness throughout your room. It allows you to control the scent — low, maximum or no scent at all.

My Thoughts:

I have only had this fan for a week, and already went to Target and bought 3 more to space around the house.  With two small dogs, who roam freely through the lower level of our home and two children under the age of two, who fill the diaper pails in the house in record time, I am also burning candles or spraying Febreze products around, to mask odors.  But, thanks to this new fan from Honeywell, not only can I get rid of these odors, but also help keep the house cool during the summer months.  Depending on where you live, you may be experiencing a heat wave right now.  Here is New England, we have been in the high 90's the past two days, and expect to continue until Sunday. I have found that when it gets hot and muggy like this, all those odors that I had previously masked with air fresheners become present.  The worst of them are the diaper pails, which can make an entire room smell.  And, we have one in our bedroom, and other in the sitting/dining area on the main level, next to the pack and play.  So, as soon as you walk up the stairs into the main level, you are greeted with an unpleasant dirty diaper smell.  It is not only embarrassing, as I don't want family and friends to have to smell this, but also unpleasant to sit and dine in this area.

When I received the Honeywell with Febreze Freshness Cool & Refresh Fan, I was not sure how well it would work, as it said it was for small/medium size rooms, and didn't look that powerful.  But, after 10 minutes of running of high speed (before I turned down to low), I couldn't get over how fresh the house smelled.  Instead of masking these unwanted odors, the Febreze scent cartridge, that was a cinch to add to the fan, got rid of the odors once and for all.  As for cooling down the rooms, I didn't notice a big difference in the dining/living area, as it is wide open and would need a few of these to cross ventilate and circulate the air.  But, when placing the Honeywell with Febreze Freshness Cool & Refresh Fan next to the diaper pail, it really went to work in eliminating the unpleasant smell of baked diapers.

So, what did I do with the other fans I purchased.  One went into our bedroom next to the other diaper pail, two were placed in the lower level where the dogs were (one next to the couch and another near where they eat, and we have a pee pad station set up for accidents).  You don't know how good it feels to be able to leave the house to run errands, and return to a fresh, odor free home.

I love how the Febreze Set&Refresh scent cartridges last up to 30 days, depending on the frequency of use.  I found that after running the fan on high speed for a half hour, I was able to turn it down to low and still maintain a fresh living space.  The scent of the cartridge that was included in the box was not overpowering, like some other odor eliminating products on the market.  And, the fan itself it lightweight, making it a breeze :-) to move it around from room to room, when needed.  I just used this afternoon in the laundry room, to get rid of the musty smell from the wet clothes and hot and muggy closed in space.  And, within minutes the room smelled great!

After such an amazingly positive experience with this sample and the additional Honeywell with Febreze Freshness Cool & Refresh Fans  I purchased, I will definitely suggest this fan to family and friends looking for a way to get rid of unpleasant odors in their home, while cooling off small/medium size rooms.  I have plans to pick up another fan for the mudroom, as well as stock up on the scent cartridges, during my next trip to Target.  And, as I sit here typing this review, I am enjoying the fresh scent, which is not overpowering, but, instead refreshing to sniff in.  I am so glad I was given the chance to review this new fan from Honeywell, as it has really made an improvement in the overall air we are breathing in, and helping to get rid of unpleasant smells, which are being made worse with this heat wave.
