Based on the true story of how Manchester United, the youngest championship team in English soccer history, rose from the ashes of a tragic plane crash that devastated the team. Powerfully acted, United is tale of overcoming-the-odds; a triumphant film not to be missed by sports fans.

My Thoughts:

Back in the day, I used to play soccer, until I injured my knee and had to give up sports.  Even though I can't play now, I still love watching games on television, especially when the World Cup comes around, and films.  So, when I heard about the recent release of United, a true story about an English soccer team, I had to get a copy of this film and see it.  My husband, who is from El Salvador is a huge soccer fan, so it is great to be able to watch soccer films with him, as we end up getting excited and cheering on the teams, like we were watching a real-time game.  This is what happened with United.  Prior to this movie, I had never heard about this young soccer team and how they turned a tragedy into an amazing accomplishment. The film sheds light on the 1958 Munich tragic airplane accident, that took the lines of most of the Manchester United soccer team.  The film does a great job in showing how the locals were affected, and how much they love their soccer team.  Everyone rallies together and shows their support for the team, who make the impossible happen.

This heartwarming film, which is great for families to watch together is entertaining from start to finish.  The storyline moves along smoothly, and keeps you engaged.  If you love soccer, or like family-friendly films about sports, then you will love United.  So, why not pick up a copy of this film, or rent it today.  Let me know what you think of the film after you see it.  I know you'll love it!

Disclosure:  I was sent a copy of this DVD from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
