YASSO Frozen Gree Yogurt Bars -- Oh, So Delicous!!! (Review and Giveaway)

Over the holidays, I was looking for healthy frozen treats to pick up and have on hand for guests, and saw Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars at my local grocery store.  But, unsure of how it would taste and if my family and friends would want to eat a Greek yogurt novelty bar after a turkey dinner, I played it safe and stuck with gallons of flavored ice cream.  As we sat around the table having pie and ice cream, I told them about how I came across Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars and was on the fence about picking them up to try.  Only one person at the dinner table knew about Yasso and their frozen treats.  They, too, had never tried them, leading me to wonder how they would taste.  It wasn't until over the weekend that I found out what I was missing.  

I ended up picking up a 14 oz box of their blueberry bars to try.  In addition to this flavors, Yasso also offers strawberry and raspberry.  My husband is a huge Greek yogurt fan, and was eager to taste one once he saw me add the box to the shopping cart.  Growing up I was always a lover of yogurt, until I went through cancer treatment.  After my first chemo treatment, I tried eating a cup of yogurt, only to get sick.  Since that time, I swore off of yogurt -- that is, until Greek yogurt was introduced in markets and become a go to snack.  At first, I was reluctant to try Greek yogurt, but after seeing my husband, who hated yogurt try it and love it, I thought I would give it a shot.  And, I, too, fell in love with Greek yogurt.  I always wondered how this yogurt would taste frozen -- and,now I know -- YUMMY!!!  As soon as the groceries were put away, my husband and I sat down with Savannah and eat tried the blueberry frozen Greek yogurt bar from Yasso.  We couldn't believe how rich and creamy this frozen treat tasted.  And, unlike other novelty bars, it was sweet, but in a healthy way.  You could actually taste real blueberries with every bite.  As we sat there enjoying these bars, I read the box to find out some pretty amazing things about this product ---

Each all natural novelty bar only had 70 calories, was fat-free, gluten-free and contained 6 grams of protein.  In addition, it was kosher, contained no corn syrup and was a great source of calcium.  Who knew you could find all this in a frozen novelty bar.  I could eat two bars in one sitting, and still take in less calories than a bowl of ice cream or other frozen treat.  But, I don't think I could eat two bars in one sitting, as they are filling.  

Unsure of how Savannah would react to this frozen bar, we let her lick it a few times.  That was a big mistake -- she ended up wanting her own! :-)  So, after my husband quickly finished his tasty frozen treat, he got Savannah a Yasso bar of her own.  We watched as he devoured her novelty bar, only to leave behind a huge smile on her face, and a few drop of frozen Greek yogurt on her shirt.  When I pointed them out to her, she attempted to undress, to lick up these spots. :-)  After this taste test, I can say that Yasso has new fans.  I can't wait to head back to the market this weekend and try out their other two flavors.  I am so glad I gave Yasso frozen Greek yogurt bars a chance, as we have found our new favorite frozen treat, that is not only satisfying, but also a healthy alternative to sugary treats we usually picked up in the past.
