Unilever Introduces Simple®: the Sensitive Skin Experts to the US (Review)

Unilever is proud to introduce the UK’s number one facial skin care brand* to the US with the launch of Simple, the sensitive skin experts. The brand’s debut in the United States and Canada is marked by the unveiling of 13 facial skincare items, making it the only mass facial skin care line specifically for those with sensitive skin.
“Simple will further strengthen Unilever’s skincare portfolio and fill a void that currently exists in the mass skincare market”

Simple is a brand with over 50 years of heritage in the UK. Fifty-eight percent of women have sensitive skin, and many who suffer from the condition are not satisfied with their skin care products. Irritants, harsh chemicals and fragrances found in many skincare products can contribute to skin sensitivities. Simple, suitable for all skin types, especially sensitive skin, understands that what is left out is equally as important as what is put in to the product. The line, including cleansers, moisturizers, eye care products and wipes, delivers effective, yet gentle, skincare with no dyes, artificial perfumes or harsh irritants that can upset the skin, just pure, skin-loving ingredients with added vitamins.

My Thoughts:

I was sent an assortment of Simple Sensitive Skincare products to try out, thanks to Unilever.  If you have read my blog posts in the past, then you know that I have sensitive skin and need to be careful what products I use on my skin.  If I use products with fragrances, then I break out in hives, and my skin stays inflamed for days.  But, when I heard about Unilever launching the Simple Sensitive Skin product line in the US this past February, I was front and center, ready to try these products out.  I have been disappointed lately with my facial care products, as they either irritate my skin, don't remove all makeup like they should, or leave behind a film, not getting my skin totally clean and free of dirt and oils.  Having spent top dollar on these so-called sensitive skin products, I was in dire need for a change and new brand that delivers on their word.

Unilever's new line, Simple does just this!  I am loving each and every sample that was sent my way.  After a week of daily use, I have seen an improvement in the overall look and feel of my skin.  I am amazed at how my face does not get red or irritated after washing or applying creams and moisturizers.  In the past, a simple facial wash would leave my skin red for at least an hour after washing.  When I use Simple facial wash gel in the AM, I can now apply my makeup right afterwards, instead of waiting for the redness to fade. Prior to putting on my makeup, I apply the Hydrating Light Moisturizer by Simple to help nourish and soften my skin.  Then, at the end of the day, I simply grab a Simple Sensitive Skin Exfoliating Wipe, and in under a minute, all my makeup is removed, leaving my skin ready for me to apply the Vital Vitamin Night Cream by Simple.  My daily skincare regime has gotten easier since switching to Simple by Unilever.  I can now pamper my skin for less, while seeing a vast improvement in my skins texture and overall appearance.  I can see firsthand why Simple by Unilever has been the UK’s number one facial skin care brand -- I just don't know why it took so long to get to the US -- but, I am glad it is here to stay!
