Now Available on DVD -- The Adventures of Tintin (Review)

Summary:

From Academy Award®-winning filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson comes the epic adventures of Tintin.  Racing to uncover the secrets of a sunken ship that may hold a vast fortune — but also an ancient curse — Tintin and his loyal dog Snowy embark on an action-packed journey around the world that critics are calling “fun for the whole family.” (ABC-TV Chicago)

My Thoughts:

This was one of the movies I missed when it was in theaters, but one I had on my must-see list when it arrived on DVD last week.  So, when I was sent a review copy, I couldn't wait for the weekend to roll around, so that my husband and I could watch it, after the girls went to bed.  Prior to watching the film with my husband, I was sent along promotional gifts with the DVD, which Savannah couldn't stop playing wither.  She especially loved Snowy the dog, and the chocolates.  Here are just a few photos of her enjoying her Tintin gifts.

As for the film, it was great.  Steven Spielberg again delivers another action-packed film for the whole family to enjoy.  If you were a fan of the Tintin comics growing up, you will revel in this animated film, which brings these classic comic stories to life.  What I loved most about this film, is how it reminded me of Polar Express, in the feel of the life-like, but animated characters.  A few times, you find yourself forgetting that you are watching a film, as the scenes are characters look real.  Children will love how the animation is so life-like, as they lose track of time, while enjoying following Tintin, Snowy and the others on their adventures.  This is definitely a film that will be watched over and over again in our household.

Looking for a DVD to add to your child's Easter basket?  Why not consider picking up a copy of TINTIN?  If your family hasn't seen TINTIN, it is definitely worth watching together.
