Last Minute Holiday Gift Giving Ideas–Bee Free Honee (Review)

Bee Free Honee is a unique sweetener with a slightly tart flavor. It is "apple honey" in that it is made from apples rather than by bees! We use only three all natural ingredients, apple, vegan quality sugar, and lemon juice. There is nothing artificial, no added color and no corn syrup.

Just as you would have more than one flavor jam in your refrigerator, this gives you a new flavor for your pantry.  It is an apple syrup for your pancakes as well as an all natural sweetener.  It is great for kids and it is Minnesota made while strictly using Midwest apples.  It is Bee Free Honee and if your co-op or grocery doesn't carry it, then please be sure to ask for it!

Bee Free Honee is great for:

Small Children, as there is no fear of Botulism

Those allergic to traditional honey

Foodies looking for a new flavor

Bee Free Honee can be used in BBQ sauces, hot and cold beverages, vinaigrettes, granola, cakes, breads, basically...if you use traditional honey in the recipe, you can use Bee Free Honee interchangeably.

Pour it on your pancakes, waffles, or French toast, it makes wonderful apple syrup. It's "apple honey" on your morning toast, yogurt, or oatmeal. Use Bee Free Honee any way you can imagine...but most importantly, enjoy it.

What makes this even more exciting is the fact that it is made in Minnesota, using strictly Midwest apples. The bottles and caps, labels, boxes that they are cased in are all from the Twin Cities. This product is as local as we could make it.

My Thoughts:

Hmm, honey that is not actually honey from bees?  I wondered what it would taste like?  Why did someone want to tamper with the favorite honey we are all accustomed to?  Well, these two questions were answered after I received a sample of Bee Free Honee and sampled it for myself.  After sampling a spoonful, I couldn’t believe it wasn’t actual honey.  Instead, it only contained apple, pure sugar cane and lemon juice.  The creator of this amazing product, Katie Sanchez created Bee Free Honee out of necessity in a Vegan bake shop.  Wanting to add the sweet taste of pure honey into her treats, she had to find a way to incorporate the flavor of honey into Vegan recipes.  And, in an oops moment, she came up with Bee Free Honee.  And, the rest is history, like they say.

In addition to enjoying this product straight from the bottle, it is also good on toast and oatmeal.  I have even incorporated it into my French toast recipe, where instead of adding dark brown sugar and butter to the bottom of the pan, I simply spread Bee Free Honee on the bottle – the result is a more moist French toast, with an amazing flavor, as the apples really shine through and are pleasing to the palette.

My husband can’t wait to try this next spring/summer when the weather gets warmer and he is grilling again, with his BBQ chicken.  In the meantime, I have been baking my BBQ chicken in the oven, and using this to baste it, as well as a dip on the side --- yummy!

So, if you are a foodie like me, or just like to sample unique products, this is one you have to add to your list and try.  It really is out of this world!

Disclosure:  I was sent a sample from the vendor in order to write up an honest review.  The views above are mine and mine alone.
