My Review:
This was the first book I read from New York Times Best Selling Author, Todd Parr, and I have to say that I am now a fan of his work. I absolutely loved the whimsical way he let children know that everyone experiences fears and is scared at one point in their lives, but he also follows up with ways to conquer those scared feelings. The illustrations pulled the story together and kept both my daughter's and my attention. I loved how Todd chose bold and bright colors when depicting the fears and positive ways to look at things.
With school starting and Halloween right around the corner, this would be a great book to pick up and share with your little ones about fears and how to conquer them -- in a fun and vibrant way. This quick and easy-to-read book, will make any child who is scared about one thing or another, look at things differently, and realize that it is normal to be scared, but that you can also conquer your fears and not be scared any more.
Like I said, I am not a fan of Todd Parr's work and will be picking up some of his previous books to add to my daughter's book collection.
