Where To Save & Splurge On Your Wardrobe

Buying clothes and accessories for your wardrobe can be a great way of treating yourself every now and then. As we approach the nicer weather conditions for the year, it’s time to transition the wardrobe and have some new pieces in our collection. But what do we save and splurge on? There are some things that are worth spending on, and there are some that are worth splurging on as an investment. Here are some tips on where to save & splurge on your wardrobe.

Save
Saving your money on certain items is necessary because otherwise, it can often be a case of doing it for the brand or spending a lot of money for it to only become damaged or out of season further down the line. So here are some things that are worth saving on when it comes to your wardrobe.

Watches - As much as watches can be a statement piece and that many will end up collecting, it’s something that is a stylish accessory to add to an outfit. It’s not something you should particularly be investing in because it doesn’t really serve much of a useful purpose other than telling the time. And when it comes to watches, a lot of people buy them for the style and design, rather than for its original function. After all, we have phones that tell us the time. You can buy cheap watches online and so it’s worth getting some cheaper models than going for designer options.

Sunglasses - Sunglasses are definitely a must for the summer, especially with the sun shining bright. It’s important to keep your eyes protected, but it doesn’t mean you have to go spending hundreds on a new pair. Sunglasses are very much prone to getting scratched and if you’re someone who is a little clumsy, you don’t want to end up doing that to a nice new pair. Therefore, it’s worth getting some that are more affordable and maybe having a couple of pairs to alternate between.

Basics - Basic tops and trousers or leggings aren’t worth spending too much money on. They’ll likely be used for underneath clothing and for days where you just want something a little more casual. They’re good for layering, and so it’s worth going for something with a cheaper price tag when it comes to shopping for basics. Whether it’s a vest top or black leggings, save your money where you can and don’t go too overboard. Quality can still be found in cheaper items of clothes, it’s just finding the right stores.

Splurge
There are a few items that are worth splurging on because they’re therefore likely to be a statement piece you have that lasts for years. Here are a few items worth splurging on.

Outerwear - Outerwear is going to be a little different over the summer weather, but in general, it’s important to invest in some quality pieces, whatever the weather. Whether it’s a denim or leather jacket, trench coat or waterproof jacket, it’s worth splurging a little extra for quality. This is a piece of clothing that’s going to be open to the elements on a regular basis so you want it to keep you warm and to also keep you comfortable.

Shoes - Footwear sees the most action when it comes to an item of clothing, and therefore, it’s worth getting something that is going to help you feel comfortable but also are durable. There are certainly lots of designer options, but it’s worth going for something that is high in quality materials and not necessarily because of the label. It is true though that those with a designer label are naturally going to have better quality to them, but that’s not always the case. Shop wisely and pick some footwear that’s built to last.

Handbags - Handbags are a main essential item for most women, and they are something you are likely to carry around with you every day. Again, you could invest in designer bags, but like shoes, you firstly want to shop with quality in mind. Pay attention to the materials the bag is made out of and look for the quality in the finer details like the zip and stitching inside and out. There are lots of different brands to choose from so be sure to do your research before you buy.

Not everything has to cost a fortune when it comes to your wardrobe, so use these tips to save where you can and splurge where it’s necessary in order to get the quality needed.
