Every time my girls sit to watch SpongeBob SquarePants on television and the theme song plays, it gets stuck in my head the rest of the day.  There is just something about this catchy tune, that even if you don't watch or like the show, you can't help but find yourself singing the song.

If you are a huge SpongeBob fan, then you will be excited to hear about the upcoming "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 200 Episodes Ever!" DVD release in stores on August 27th.  My youngest was first to tell me about this upcoming DVD release, as she wanted me to get it for her birthday.  She started watching this show a few years back with my husband, and ever since, both of my girls have been hooked, and love to end their evenings by watching a few SpongeBob SquarePants episodes.  If you were to look at our DVR, you would see that it is almost full, thanks to all the SpongeBob SquarePants episodes they have recorded and saved over the years.  They love watching the episodes over and over again, especially on rainy days like today.

Shortly after my youngest told me about the "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Best 200 Episodes Ever!" release, I was sent an email to see about reviewing and hosting a giveaway for this upcoming DVD release.  I jumped on the opportunity as I knew my girls would love helping me review the DVD, and it wouldn't be that hard for them to tell me about the episodes, as they probably have already watched them all over a dozen times already.  Also, I love being able to offer readers a chance to win fun prizes like this, and know that my girls are not the only SpongeBob SquarePants fans out there, so this would be a fun giveaway to host

Like I mentioned in my last post, the girl took full advantage of the bag of DVDs we had to review, to keep them busy during our 4 hr. drive to and from NH during our recent vacation. Another movie the girls liked watching was the new "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom," which arrives on DVD September 11th.  I don't know about you, but we really like this time of year, as there are so many seasonal holiday DVD releases, which are fun to watch as a family, as you count down until a holiday.  Next to Christmas, Halloween is my girls' next favorite holiday, and they have a large Halloween DVD collection, which they continue to add to.  And, thanks to "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom", they are in Halloween mode, and have already started to decorate the house, and think about the costumes they will make this year.

Do you have a SpongeBob SquarePants fan in your life?  My two girls and husband can't get even of SpongeBob.  They tune in daily to watch this popular animated series, and will usually pop in one of our many SpongeBob DVDs over the weekend to watch together, while they are enjoying their pancake breakfasts they do with Daddy.  :-)

This DVD has just the right amount of spooky fun that will get kids excited about Halloween and all that comes with this festive holiday.  My girls really enjoyed this new release, and said it is one of their favorite SpongeBob SquarePants movie, and one they will be watching again soon, and as Halloween nears.

Both of my girls were so excited when they saw the new "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Ninth Season" DVD arrive at our door the other day, as they are both huge SpongeBob SquarePants fans, along with husband, who turns into a kid when he watches this show with them. :-)  

It was hard to keep this DVD away from the kids as they couldn't wait to watch the all 4 Discs (over 9 hours of SpongeBob SquarePants fun).  If I would have let them binge watch this new DVD, they would have...well, at least my husband was up for the challenge.  Even though they have already watched all the episodes that make up the 9th season, they couldn't wait to watch them over again, as per Bella's words "they are all super amazing and worth watching again and again." 

We have only had this 4-DVD release for a short time, but my husband and daughters are making their way through the first disc.  While I cook dinner, my husband will put on a couple episodes for him and the girls to watch.  All I hear from the living room is giggling and laughing.  I never got into this show, but my girls love it, and it is a way for them to bond over a show with my husband and spend quality time together, so I am all for it.  My girls were so excited to add this new "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Complete Ninth Season"  to their growing SpongeBob DVD collection, and I know your child will want this new release, too, if they are big fans of this popular animated series (enjoyed by both kids and adults).  And, with the holidays fast approaching, this new release would make for a great gift to unwrap on Christmas morning. :-)

Is the weekend here yet?  With the crazy past two weeks I have had, I can sure use a break this upcoming.  Both Savannah and Bella have been hit with sinus infections, allergies, cold and even conjunctivitis, all of which have caused them to have restless nights, long days where they feel miserable, but don't want to lay down, and a mommy who has had about 3 days sleeps in a 2 week time span.  I feel like I have a newborn in the house again, with the up all nights and long days.  Oh, how I can't wait for these colds and viruses to run their course and I have my two little happy girls back.

But, with sick days comes a lot of snuggle time on the couch, watching movies.  And, thankfully I had a stack of movies to have to review, so this kept the girls and I busy and entertained. :-)  From animated movies to Nick Jr. shows on DVD and even a Hallmark Channel movie to help me unwind while rocking the girls to sleep, there have been some really great movie releases this past week, that will make family movie night and date night in enjoyable for your family.

The first movie the girls and I watched was "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out off Water," which just arrived on DVD, Blu-ray and Digital download this past Tuesday.  Our youngest, Bella, is a huge SpongeBob fan, due in part to the catchy theme song, while Savannah wonders why SpongeBob dresses like that and why his friend Patrick Star doesn't wear a shirt.  These details make it hard for to sit and watch the show...and, I don't blame her, as I am not really a big SpongeBob fan either...that was, until I saw this movie, which is sure to be a summer hit and one kids and families will be watching over and again.

Like I said, Savannah and I aren't real big SpongeBob SquarePants fans, but we couldn't help but get into this movie. Bella was so excited to see all her favorite SpongeBob characters together, and was quick to catch us up to speed on who each character was.  This is one movie that you can watch and enjoy even if you haven't seen the previous SpongeBob movie or watch the hit animated series, which both kids and adults enjoy watching.

I will say that the story seemed to jump around at times and left you wondering what was going on, but my husband, who watched the movie with us the second time around was quick to point out, this is customary with the animated series.  You are supposed to sit and just enjoy the silliness of the characters and SpongeBob picking on his friends and the other characters.  When you try to think seriously about the show, then you quickly lose interest.  Thankfully, with limited amount of sleep and wanting to watch a movie that didn't need me to concentrate, this movie was perfect.

Because the movie didn't really make sense, you couldn't help but laugh through the film.  There is also slapstick comedy interspersed throughout the film that will make even adults and non SpongeBob fans laugh out loud. :-)  Who can't help but smile when the screen is filled with brightly colored scenes and characters.  You find yourself watching this movie and admiring the playful scenes and forgetting about the premise of the movie, finding the magical secret formula for the Krabby Patty.  When you find yourself remembering this, you then find yourself wiping away tears from laughing so much. :-)

Bella was quick to give this movie 2 thumbs up and has already watched this movie a handful of times with my husband, who is also a huge SpongeBob fan.  While I will not say that I am a new SpongeBob fan, I will say that this movie with all its quirks will definitely entertain both young and old.  And, even if you watch it just to keep the kids entertained this summer, you will find yourself laughing -- how could you not when you see SpongeBob SquarePants and his friends appear on the screen.
