Get Ready for a Memorable Christmas Movie Night with Buddy the Elf, Festive Treats and Fun Activities #ChristmasFun #ChristmasMemories

The twinkling lights are up, the air is crisp, and there's a definite buzz of excitement in every home. As the days get shorter and the anticipation for Christmas grows, there's one beloved tradition that brings everyone together: family Christmas movie night!

Cozying up on the couch with a festive film and some delicious themed treats is the perfect way to make magical memories. To help you plan the ultimate holiday cinematic experience, we've paired some favorite Christmas movies with fun, easy, and delicious snack and dinner ideas!

The Classics: Warm Fuzzies & Comfort Food

Movie Pick: Elf (2003)

Rent now from Amazon for only $3.99

This modern classic about Buddy the Elf spreading Christmas cheer is full of laughs and highly quotable. It's perfect for families!

Buddy's Food Group: Festive Feast & Treats

  • Dinner: North Pole Pizza: Order a plain cheese pizza (or make your own!) and then use cookie cutters to place pepperoni, green peppers, and black olives in festive shapes (stars, trees, bells) on top, or simply cut toppings with a knife and arrange into festive shapes, like green pepper Christmas trees.

  • Treat 1: Spaghetti-O's (the Family-Friendly Way): Instead of Buddy's syrup-laden spaghetti, serve up a bowl of spaghetti with traditional red sauce (marinara) and call them "North Pole Pasta." Use sprinkles of green parsley or basil leaves for extra festive color!

  • Treat 2: Maple Syrup Dippers: Serve pancakes or waffles cut into small squares. Provide a small bowl of maple syrup for dipping. You can add a dusting of powdered sugar to look like snow!

  • Beverage: Hot Chocolate & Marshmallows (Extra Sweet): Nothing says Christmas like a cozy mug of hot cocoa topped with whipped cream and mini marshmallows.

Fun Printable Games!

Keep the entertainment going before the movie, during an intermission, or after the credits roll with these festive, easy-to-print games. There are so many great free printables online if you do a quick search. I found a cute "Elf Yourself Craft" where you add your child's face to the elf body for an instant puppet. :-)  I also found assorted coloring pages, bingo games and word searches.
