I still can't believe that today is December 1st. Wow, this year truly flew by! And, now everyone is starting to feel the mad dash of the holidays, rushing out to stores to get some deals or try to save a little money, while checking people off their holiday shopping list. Did you get any good Black Friday deals? Or, are you waiting until tomorrow to do some online shopping with Cyber Monday deals? Every year I tell myself I am not going to get carried away with the deals, but how can you resist, right?! For the first time in a few years I had to run out to Target to get the Taylor Swift drop for my youngest daughter. She only had a few items on her wish list, and 3 of them required me to hit up the store at the crack of dawn. Thankfully I didn't have to run down an aisle or fight off another shopper to get the last vinyl or book. I was amazed at how organized Target was for this drop and even their other Black Friday deals. I was in and out in minutes, and back home resting before the sun came up. And, thanks to my go-to silky eye mash from Sia Silk, I was able to get my much needed beauty sleep, so that when I woke my husband and girls wouldn't get a grouchy mom who was sleep deprived.
The holidays can really throw us for a loop, and cause unnecessary stress - like trying to store the hottest must have toys and gifts for our kids, to having to prep and clean the house to get it ready for family and friends stopping by to visit or for dinner. But, one thing I have learned and make a point to practice is that I need to make time just for me. While it may sound selfish, it really isn't. If we can make time for everyone else, or do things for others, why don't we ever put ourselves first? We are a priority, too! And, the last thing our family needs is a tired mom who can't function due to lack of sleep, or being too stressed out. The holidays are a fun time of year and one many look forward to, especially the little ones who still believe in Santa. We owe it to ourselves and our family and friends to make a point to put ourselves first so we, too, can enjoy the holidays, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Now, I can't promise we will all want to pose for photos -- that is still a work in progress even for me -- but, I do see why it is important to be present and in photos as that is what our kids and grandkids will have to remember us long after we are gone. They don't want to wish they had more photos with mom in them and not behind the camera snapping photos.
One way to make time for ourselves is to pencil out time and just sit and relax. You can go into a quiet room or your bedroom and just lay down and relax. Listen to some relaxing music or some of our favorite music, and take 5-10 minutes to unwind. You will get up feeling refreshed and feeling less frazzled. And, if you are a night owl or struggle to fall asleep at night, why not try turning off all devices a couple hours before bedtime, and instead of watching television, put some relaxing music on, before popping on an eye mask like the one I like to wear from Sia Silk. Also, I love applying the lavender essential oil roll on on the top corner of my pillow case or collar of my pajamas, before rolling on the pulse points of my wrists, and as I lay and relax, the smell of lavender helps to relax me even further. And, soon enough you will find your mind starting to relax so that you can fall asleep. If you do this on a consistent basis, you will find your sleep schedule getting back on track and thus finding yourself waking feeling refreshed thanks to a good night's sleep.
I struggled forever to fall asleep, partly because my daughters both have night lights or lights they keep on in their rooms at night time. The hallway that is adjacent to our bedroom door has a light so you can see walking if you get up in the night to use the bathroom, and my husband always seems to have his phone turn on and off when he gets messages or pins to his phone, and that alone can light up our bedroom at the dead of night. But, then I started to wear the Sia Silk eye mask I was sent to review, and that has made all the difference. I will tell you, I never thought of myself as an eye mask wearing, but once I started to use it at night time, I found myself wondering why I waited so long to try them out. They really work, and are so comfortable to wear.
I especially like the soft and silky feel of the The Sia Silk eye mask is made of 100% pure Mulberry Silk, and has extra deep eye cups for those with long lashes or extension, and for a more comfortable fit around your eyes.
Also, the extra deep eye cups help with providing total darkness by blacking out light and other distractions.
I never knew a sleep mask could feel so luxurious until I slipped the Sia Silk eye mask on, and adjusted the strap for a custom fit around my head. The plush padding really felt good around my eye area and provided maximum comfort, even when I shifted in my sleep and went from sleeping on my back to my side.
With the holidays fast approaching, why not think of yourself while you are doing some online shopping in the next couple of weeks, and order a Sia Silk eye mask for yourself? You can also grab the roll-on aromatherapy lavender essential oil to compliment the mask and help with relaxing and getting a restful night's sleep.
Don't get too wound up trying to find the perfect gift for everyone else and not thinking about treating yourself for once. Maybe use this time to stop and put you first for once, and give yourself the "me time" and pampering you so deserve. I feel like a million bucks now when I wake up, and I look forward to bedtime each night, as I know that once I slip on my Sia Silk eye mask and lay down, the world around me melts away and I give myself permission to relax and rest after a busy day. Why don't you do the same...you and your family will thank you for it!

And, if you have lash extensions or long lashes, this eye mask is made especially for you in mind with the extra deep eye cups so your lashes don't crease or crush in the night -- so don't use this as an excuse why you can't treat yourself to an eye mask like the one from Sia Silk.
