My oldest has always been my creative child of my two. She loves arts and crafts, and picked up drawing during COVID, and has continued learning to draw through online classes, as well as doing college classes with the Art Institute in San Francisco. She says drawing and doodling are stress relievers for her, and also a way to fill her time when she isn't doing school, reading, hanging out with friends, etc. Her sketches/drawings come from inspiration from books she is reading, favorite characters in books and movies, as well as the season. While she is not one that will grab her sketchbook and bring along to parks and museums, she does take a mention snap shot and will come and recreate her version of what she remembers and puts it on paper.
So, when her birthday or the holidays roll around, I know she is always up for receiving art and drawing supplies. She can never have too many, and with so many varieties and colors of art supply products, I never find myself buying her duplicates of something, unless she is asking to restock after using up. This year, I wanted to introduce her to a new line of art supply products that I stumbled upon online and noticed she didn't use -- Sakura of America.
Sakura of America offers a wonderful selection so art supplies for all mediums. From watercolor sets and oil pastels to solid paint markers and even Permapaque markers, they have what any artist person, young or old, will need to get inspired and let their creativity flow onto the paper. Sakura of America also offers a line of Gelly Roll retractable gel ink pens that I knew my daughter would love, as she loves to add little details to her artwork to make things pop and stand out.
I surprised her with the 24 piece special edition Gelly Roll retractable pen set the other day, and her eyes lit up with excitement.
Not only did the set come with 24 smooth ink flow gel ink pens that had a glittery look when drawn with, you also got a pen case to hold all the pens, which makes this a great art kit for those who like to draw on the go. I left my daughter to play and experiment with these new Gelly roll gel ink pens (0.8 mm), and she was quick to whip up a wintery scene to showcase the glittery effects of the retractable pens. She said that these pens will come in handy for her journaling, note taking in class, and her drawing.
She didn't have any of the 24 colors in any of her other colored pen sets, and really liked the variety of colors.
She was quick to also check out the Sakura of America website and put together a wish list for Christmas of pens, markers, pencils and oil pastels she would love to get and use with her arts and crafts and drawing. In addition to the ease of use of the Gelly Roll retractable pens when drawing, she liked how the ink didn't bleed through the pages or smudge.
The ink was so shiny and worked on both matte and glossy paper. The ink is also waterproof, chemical and fade resistant, and ph-neutral.
I looked online and found that the Sakura of America product line is available at a few of the colleges and university bookstores near us, as well as a few popular art supply stores in the area. In addition, you can also find online at Amazon.com and Michaels.com. And, just in time for Black Friday shopping, I am excited to announce that Sakura of America is offering some amazing deals which make picking up and gifting their product line affordable and a no-brainer for those with tweens/teens and artsy/crafty people (of all ages) on their shopping list.
Starting November 29th and going through Dec. 2nd, Sakura of America will be offering the Gelly Roll Gift Set at a discounted price on Amazon, along with some of their other Gelly Roll sets (Metallic, Moonlight, Fine and Bold tips). I know I will be picking up a handful of these Gelly Roll pen sets as they are top on my daughter's wish list after having tried out the 24-piece special edition set recently. I also plan to buy a couple sets for my other daughter, as she has been stealing my daughter's Gelly Roll pens to add a little pizazz to her note taking during online classes, or just to doodle with, as she, too, likes the glittery effects and how smooth the colors flow and look on the page.
So, as you gear up for Black Friday shopping online, make a point to add Sakura of America's Gelly Roll pen sets at Amazon to your list, and shop between 11/29-12/2 for some amazing discounted deals. Then, sit back and have your order ship direct to your door to save you time waiting in the checkout line at busy retailers. I am so glad we were introduced to Sakura of America and their line of Gelly Roll pens. I know they will be a staple now in my daughter's art supply collection, and go along with her when we go on road trips, thanks to the handy pencil case. This set in particular has classic black, white, blue and red, along with all the other playful metallic and stardust colors, so you get a good assortment of colors in this set alone. Highly recommend!
